Skechers Women's Go Walk 5

Good for parties and errands
Very good looking barefoot slip-on.Trying for years to find replacement for irreplaceable old Merrell’s which r wearing out and which were walking as well as “dress” shoes.Have tried newer style Merrell loafers but they looked like tubes so I returned them.I don’t like the current popular “memory foam” which these Skechers have, don’t like sensation of walking on marshmallows. So these won’t be walking shoes but they r attractive and will hopefully not hurt my feet over time. The toe box could be a little wider but I appreciate their design and the depth of their soles.I ordered solid black.

Ordered 8.5 received 9. Already worn so no return
Ordered 8.5 received 9. Already worn so no return. I am disabled my physical therapist recommended these for support with my cane. They are nice but to long and to wide. A little disappoint because I live on a fixed income. Can't afford to do with out them because to many falls lately. So I just have to make do and be very careful until I can afford more.

I could have gone down half a size - read on!
Someone recommended this shoe to me as a comfortable option for wearing around the house. The fact that they're a slip on appealed to me, and Skechers are known for their comfort. While they aren't the most stylish or attractive shoe, my priority was comfort. I read the product description and the reviews, and ordered in my normal shoe size, which is a 7. These arrived pretty quickly. Straight out of the box, my first impression was, "Well, you didn't buy them because they're cute", so I slipped them on. They were pretty tight with my normal socks on, but since the upper is completely made out of fabric, I figured they'd loosen up a little. I switched to a thinner sock, and they were comfortable. (Note: the design of this shoe makes them look funky with any kind of regular socks on, so I'd suggest the really low profile socks you'd wear with loafers unless you want your feet to look like they came from an old man, minus the wife beater T-shirt!) Within only one hour of wear, they'd loosened up so much that I could easily wear my original socks if I wanted to. I kind of wish I'd ordered half a size down, but I purchased these at a steal as a damaged box item; for the price, I can use a pair of slip-on shoes that I won't worry much about for outdoor activities that I don't need a muck boot for, but wouldn't want my better shoes to be exposed to. If I were purchasing strictly as a shoe I'd never wear with any kind of sock, a 6.5 would probably have been perfect for my usually sized 7 feet. However, I do like some kind of barrier between my feet and my shoe, so this isn't a horrible thing for me overall. The slip-in part that sits above the heel kind of digs in slightly on only one shoe. It's just enough to announce itself after a few hours of wear, but not so uncomfortable that I wouldn't wear them (or feel the need to return them because of it). I did see that someone else has mentioned this exact same thing in another review, so be aware that this is a thing that can and does happen with this style. The shoe itself isn't as supportive as I'd expected, as the fabric loosens up quite a bit, which then results in more "play" within the upper of the shoe. If you need something that will hold your foot in a more supported, static fashion, keep this in mind. You can't tighten the upper since it doesn't lace up, so sizing is really important if you're looking for that kind of support from the upper of the shoe. The foot bed feels comfortable. It's more cushioned than my Uggs, but is comparable from an overall comfort standpoint. Because of the play you get when the shoe loosens up, your foot can move around a little bit within the confines of the shoe. Anyone who's prone to ankle issues (such as twists, turns, or looseness in that joint) will definitely want to make sure this shoe is sized appropriately for the manner in which they intend to wear the shoe so they don't experience too much movement and slack within the upper.Would I repurchase? Maybe. This isn't so incredibly comfortable that I feel myself inclined to run out and buy a pair in another color. Additionally, I don't see myself wearing these in the winter to go run errands, since I feel like they really look like an old person's shoe if you have any kind of visible socks on. (TBF, even without socks, this shoe doesn't scream "youthful", so...), but maybe in a smaller size and without visible socks they would be a decent option to run errands in warmer weather that require some time on my feet. I purchased these in black on black since that was what was available, so perhaps a different color would change my mind entirely. If I do go that route, or my assessment changes after more use, I'll update my review to reflect my experience.

Great Brand
I love this brand and have never had any problems with any of the products I have purchased. This shoe is very affordable and comfortable. I may just purchase the Navy next.

Inconsistent Sizing
Once upon a time Skechers' sizing was predictably consistent. No longer. In recent months I have ordered six pairs of Skechers and returned all six. My normal size 6.5 is now a full size too large on my right foot (my left foot is 1/2 size larger than my right foot, so I always go with a 6.5 and put a heel pad in the right shoe). I've attached a photo to show how visibly larger the current Go Walk style is compared to my old Go Walk shoe.I even tried a Size 6 wide (to accommodate a bunion), but they were similarly too large (wide all over, too, not just in the toe box). This style doesn't have the stretch and give that the earlier versions had, either.Honestly, purchasing shoes online is risky...no two pairs fit exactly alike. But in my experience, this particular style tends to run large, has less give than the jersey fabric used on earlier versions, and is generally less comfortable.
