Large amount of track pieces in set.
My son loves his train set! Large amount of track pieces for price. I spent hours looking at train sets , so glad I chose this one!

This is a lot of pieces...
Wow 100-Piece for under $50?Pros:+ Price <-to-> Piece ratio, there's a lot here.+ Universal fit, you can add this to existing train sets, including but not limited to; Tomas, Imaginarium, Chugington, Orbruim, etc...+ Construction, its as good as any or the more expensive play-sets, without (ugly and albeit sometimes creepy) faces on the trains and stuff.+ Amount of track <-to-> Piece ratio; I was thinking there was still a lot of track even with the total amount of pieces here, granted some play-sets are ONLY tracks, but there's quite a bit here and the ---++ Variety --+ Is just fantastic. Trees, people, different types of track, 2 ramps, a bridge, supports WITH SUPPORTS(they improved bridge supports(clear plastic braces)? I didn't think that was possible! Preposterous!)+ NO Stickers! That's right, everything is painted. No stickers for the kids to peal off, and no stickers to fall off as it gets old, it will always look great just like it does, so long as you dont let your kids chop on them like a chew toy, honestly that would be a failure on the parents part for not providing an alternative --- Lets move on shall we? =P+Pieces fit back into the box. Look, with the box this comes in, if you toss them in there, you wont fit them all in let me tell you, they CRAMMED this box FULL. But if you put them back neatly and organized like I do when my temp OCD kicks in, there's room to spare. If you are just going to throw the box away, then this isnt much of a Pro, hence the reason its last on the list.Cons- Wooden train set. Lets be honest here, my lil girl knocks this train track down all the time, gotta put it back together, honestly not really a Con for this train set just for these sets in general, but with kids, you have to expect that they are going to wreck things, so... not really a con.-This review has no Cons, =O *gasp* Considering the above Con doesn't really count. Deduct a star from the reviewer!! Mutiny! Yarr! ... right it doesn't have Pirates BAM there's a Con for you!Hope this answers all your questions, and thanks for reading.

Great Wooden Train Set.
Great train set for the price! No complaints. We've had the high dollar train sets and besides the fancy paint jobs (which were toxic) for the official characters of the expensive brands, this train set is great for kids to play with and use their own imagination. If it's for the fun of trains rather than a love of a character and a TV show, THIS is a great wooden train set for toddlers and young kids. If a kid LOVES that character, I'd stick with the character and less train for the buck.As for this collection of pieces - Toddlers might not use all of the pieces yet but this set has pieces for them to grow into and learn with the tools at hand for their expanding abilities to figure things out. I picked this one for a 2 year old and a 5 year old to share. It's great for both.* The box it comes in is packed VERY well, I was concerned when it arrived, with the box thinking it was going to be way less than I hoped for because the box was pretty small. It is just packed REALLY Well!** get one of those plastic storage containers next size up from the shoe size one... you'll never get the pieces back into the box the set comes in and unless you have a place to leave it out, a container to keep it in is great.*** There was another train set I looked at on here that came with a plastic storage container but this set looked like a better set while the other one was over paying for the container and getting less train.

Two thumbs waaaay up! (With a two year update)
We bought this set about a month ago, and we love it. My son's 2 years old and he's played with the track and trains every single day.As other reviews noted, it is true that tracks don't necessarily stay really 'tight' together especially the bridge pieces, but when you got a toddler butt whipping around the bridge while his other end plays with the other side of the track, who can blame the product? There are two design downside of this set (not of the tracks or the items, but what is included in the set) -- there are no double connector pieces (female-female/ male-male track pieces) and only a very limited amount of straight tracks, both of which present as bit of a frustration when you are trying to build something other than the track shown on the box. But just yesterday we brought home from IKEA a box with track parts that includes multiples of straight tracks and connector pieces, and they fit beautifully with the Orbrium set and we've already put together multiple elaborate tracks for our toddler to play with and pull apart. We are well satisfied with the product. :thumbs-up:(2 year update:) We've now had this product for almost a year now. If I could give it an extra star I totally would. The product is still as good as the first day! It has weathered beautifully through all the mistreatment my now 4 year old and his 1.5 year old brother dish out on a daily basis. I'm not just talking about the tracks but also the trains and all the other little figurines that come with the set. In a world of junk toys that toy industry is, this set is not only affordable but entertaining and durable. Simply amazing.

Nice starter train set
Nice enough train set. It feels disingenuous to say this is 100 pieces when half the pieces are road signs and houses. One of our three-way pieces broke within the first month but we glued it back together and continue to use. Good starter set but would want to continue to supplement with additional track.
