The sound I need.
Good quality and sound. I prefer Evans over Remo.

A very versatile head.
I have been playing these heads on my snare drums for about 5 years now and love them. Out of my 11 snare drums, all but 3 have a coated g2's on them. I started out playing Remo heads in the beginning, and while they do sound good the coating starts coming off immediately. As in after 20 min of playing you already have an area with coating coming off. So I tried Evans and never looked back. I chose the g2 because the two plies are very durable and last a good amount of time even with decently heavy hitting. The coating lasts weeks, and the plies barely ever get stick craters in them. They seat nicely, especially since Evans came out with their Level 360 collar system, which gives you an even seat all the way around the bearing edge. I have coated g2's on brass, African mahogany, steel, maple, and aluminum drums, and they all sound great. They also work just as well on toms, which I have on my gig kit toms. Overall the coated g2 is a great sounding, durable, and affordable head for toms and snare drums.

Amazing!!!
I absolutely loved this snare head. It’s has some great sound and it’s made with really good material. This is probably the best snare head I’d tried in years! You should definitely buy this head if you want some good quality but you don’t want to spend more money in something more expensive. If you’re looking for a great and cheap snare head, this is it!

Simply Amazing!
These drum heads are amazing. I have one on my snare drum, and I wouldn't have it any other way. They're durable, and the coating adds a warmer tone to the sound of the drum, which is what I was aiming for. I've been abusing the one that I currently have on my snare for months on end now, and it's still holding strong! The coating has worn off in the center where I hit the head, but that's to be expected with any coated head. All in all, this is a great drum head. It's durable, sounds great, and adds a nice touch if you're looking for a different color than the usual clear heads.

Oddly sounds great as a reso/front head on my bass drum
Coated is not my favorite for a reso bass head but this sounds great with my EMAD batter head.

Very Good Heads!
I recommend this Evans head series (G2 Coated) to any drummer. Professional or not. I've only been drumming for about a year now and I've had my own set for about 9-10 months. I got these heads about two months ago and they're still strong. The sound is amazing.. The first time I put them on, I fell in love with the sound. It gives you that nice deep sound on the toms and bass and a nice pop for the snare. These are my first heads after the regular stock heads my set brought (4-Piece Sound Percussion Drum set), I can't really say they are the BEST heads out there simply because I haven't tried any other heads. But I am 100% satisfied with these heads. They get the job done. Well recommended!

Great Drumhead
Great drumhead. My economic drum sounded like a toy with the plastic drumhead that came with it. Now it sounds more like a real drum. I highly recommend it.

Great quality at a great price!
Will always give Evans some love, particularly because they often give as good or better quality than Remos at better price points. That said, 6 inch tom drums are interesting sound wise. Was trying to find some thing that might give the tom a warm sound. This didn't quite achieve that. Might try the Evans onyx series or possibly even remo ebony emporer or pinstripe. Might be a lost cause...6" is crazy treble!
