Isolation Ward: A Novel of Medical Suspense (Nathaniel McCormick) Mass Market Paperback – December 26, 2006

When I first opened this package, I immediately noticed the mold it carried on the bottom of the pages which is very disgusting and I will be returning!

I could not put this book down. This novel is to medical novels what "The Firm" was to legal novels.The story is very good, and the characterization and dialogue are excellent. He outdoes both Cook and Palmer. I just bought his second novel, "Flawless," and I hope Dr. Spanogle is busy writing his third.If you enjoy Robert Crais, Michael Connelly, John Lescroart, Dennis Lehane, you will want to add this author to your favorites.

This is a stupid book. I just stopped reading it 1/2 way through. It is not plague spreading story as you are led to believe. It is basically about one charachter who I guess is supposed to be interesting and we are supposed to care about (not and no). Investigating a possible plague outbreak ...one after another of unbelievable coincidences and all that is happening is his inner turmoil. Terrible. The only reason I gave it one star is I don't know how to give it no stars.

I enjoyed this book a lot, but liked his second book better, which I read first. He is an excellent author and his writing keeps you on your toes all throughout the books.

I really wanted to like this book. New author, medical thriller, right up my alley. However I read about 1/3 and just had to stop. It was terrible, writing was awful, totally unrealistic. I almost can't believe the author is a physician. There are just too many wonderful books out there to waste your time on this dud. If you want a book with a medical context, check out "Cutting For Stone" which is spectacular.

Outstanding novel. Spanogle develops his main character's personality so you feel it is a real person. Character development on the same order as a Lee Child or Michael Palmer novel. Book kept my interest from the beginning to very end. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Took a while to get into Joshua's style of writing but I am now enjoying this book and would read others by this author.
