Great map for a great value
I purchased a used map "like new" from my vendor for $7.50. It arrived within days in the condition stated. I grew up on $2.50 US Geological Survey maps with grid lines to calculate azimuths and plot an 8 digit grid coordinate so others would know. The worse thing to ever happen was privatizing that. Now those maps are $20 if you can find them. While I miss many of the features of the US Geo Survey maps, I've switched to National Geographic maps mostly for price reasons. While they don't have the old grid lines, you can terrain associate the contour lines when in mountainous topography. Don't trust phone batteries or cell service on a multi day hike or hunt - get a paper map!

Good Map for an Overview of Ranger District of National Forest
This map is useful for an overview of the Ranger District within the Pisgah National Forest. Its scale is 1:50,000. For backpacking, hiking or camping in the forest, however, I recommend maps from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service, Southern Region. These topographical maps are at a scale of 1:24,000 and have more information about the forest. An example of such a map is the "Shining Rock & Middle Prong Wilderness, Pisgah National Forest, North Carolina, U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service, Southern Region."

Nice map and great quality!
This 2009 map is the latest and greatest as of this review as you can see by looking it up on the Nat Geo website. The quality is nice and sturdy and will hold up on hiking trips. The trail designations show the trail difficulty and even gives you the criteria that they base it on. I like that since designations can sometimes be subjective. Good road markings too so I can figure out how to get to the trails. Good buy!

Good map
Useful Map. I had hoped to save some money by getting it on Amazon as opposed to in the store at Rock Creek, but I think with shipping I ended up paying about the same. No matter, the map is good and as advertised. Well printed, tear resistant and waterproof-ish. I spilled some water on it and it wiped off well. No damage. Not a whole lot to say here, its a good map. Well made.

Accurate and weatherproof.
Great map. Glad it was vinyl and not paper as it rained for most of my hike. I literally had to hang dry the map when I got home. Didn't get lost once.

Great handy size and durable for years of rolling around in a truck.
Good quality material that will hold up. Information well needed at your fingertips.

No distance marking along the trail
I brought the map to plan how to split the entire backpack over multiple days with equal load every day, but the map does not have distance marking along the trail (in my case Art Loeb Trail) to do that.
