This is a very informative and detailed book, with very clear instructions for painting portraits of birds with acrylic paint. The author gives great directions on composition and the specific features of birds (and how to paint those features realistically). I highly recommend this book. Birds are my favorite subjects to paint, and this book has supplied me with tips and tricks o the right colors and techniques to capture why I love them so much.

Book was a gift for my daughter who is a budding artist and also has 4 birds. She said the book was beautiful, described what characteristics define each type of bird. She commented that it is not a book for kids but a way to technically illustrate many different types of birds. Only negative comment was the time from order to delivery was longer than average.

This book is a must have for your library if you are interested in painting birds. I hope that he will offer some video tutorials in the future to go with the book. He has an interesting technique for painting with acrylics that tempted me to move from watercolors to try a new medium. His techniques can be used to paint a lot more than just birds.

Great hardcover book with a multitude of instructions, tips and full color illustrations. I was not expecting this book so soon; However, it was delivered three days before the expected delivery date. It is really a great book for any bird watching enthusiast or any artist who paints birds, either novice or expert. I recommend this book

This is a nice book, aimed at beginners. It is a stroke by stroke, color by color rundown of painting specific birds - Eurasian birds, as it turns out. I am a somewhat experienced bird painter, and was hoping for something a bit deeper, with information that would expand my understanding and expertise. STILL, it's a nice book for beginners.

This book has everything a student could want to learn bird painting in acrylics. He even includes drawing to practice by.I will buy all the books he ever puts out. Video's too. I hope he will do the large Blue Heron and other large birds and a black Raven in his next book.

1st attempt at painting in 20yrs, followed book instructions and produced this. Well pleased, this book has given me confidence to carry on when I retire in a few months.

The book have take water so he don't seems new. I'm not satisfied.
