My husband has many high quality traditional tools which he uses on twice turned wood, using the push cut method. Got him the pro carbide tools because he does not have any carbide tools and has never used carbide for wood turning. He is now in love with carbide when turning dense and/ or hard dry wood. Yesterday he used carbide for the first time on a very very very dense wood. He was thrilled that he completed the bowl without having to sharpen his tools!!! Not having to sharpen saves time. Plus very little end grain tear out. My husband will always be a traditional tool wood turning guy on most wet wood. He now sees the value in carbide. He is currently talking about incorporating resin in some of his turnings. Carbide is a must for resin. He is beyond happy with the Easy Wood Tools and the long handles. The long handles enables him to create "the swing" needed to make a beautiful curve on a turning, so he says. My husband rates these tools as an A+. Highly recommended.

First of all, the price is high. That said, the performance and ease of use is everything you must have if you plan to produce large pieces.The carbide is sharp enough to cut well, and for me the selling point is the variety of carbide available in several radii and in negative rake.

I absolutely love this gouges for turning fully dried ( and very hard) wood. These gouges outperform any HSS tool especially when turning dry wood. They have a very short learning curve and perform great when turning odd shaped pieces which have no edges to ride the bevel of a common rougher on. Like all carbide tools, they are not as sharp as HSS tools but stay sharp much longer. I absolutely recommend this type of carbide gouges to any novice because the learning curve is very low and Easy Wood Tools provides helpful instructional videos on their website.Since I got these, most of my HSS gouges stay in the drawer, and only a few HSS scrapers are still in use for some final touches

Purchased this set and subsequently ordered more. These turning tools are a dream come true. Turned outside and inside of my bowls in record time, with no catches and a nice clean cut. Using these tools made me feel very comfortable turning without worries about sudden "errors" and or mistaken cuts....I should have ordered these tools before I bought my standard set of bowl gouges. I highly recommend Easy Wood tools for your turning needs.

I have pondered over getting these tools for awhile now and I finally decided to purchase these tools. Now I question why I did not do it sooner. These tools feel comfortable to use, have great balance and the quick change tips are great. Before just replacing the tips remember you can sharpen them with the right stone in seconds.

If you are doing wood turning and need fullsized tools these are great. Ability to replace cutting head is nice feature and these tools give you great control. They are very heavy duty and may be to large for some applications.

So far, I love these tools. Have been using them a lot. It can spoil you. Used in conjunction with the conventional turning tools and you have a lot you can do when turning.
