Works great for my 1950 Singer Featherweight and 1905 Singer 66
Nice and bright! These lamps work great for my 1950 Singer Featherweight and with my antique 1905 Singer 66. The magnet sticks firmly to the metal faceplate, but doesn't scratch. The cord was easily tucked along the back of the machine and does not get in the way at all. I was very pleased with the brightness of these lamps, I find a lot of LED lamps are not as bright as they claim, or have so many bulbs that they cast weird shadows. These lamps make a nice bright, shadowfree light source that I can aim exactly where I need it most. Other brands of sewing machine lamps require adhesive to mount, which might damage your paint finish or decals on a vintage machine. The magnetic mount on this is very strong, and smooth, so I am not worried about scratching up the chrome endplate on my machines. I chose the black lamp option, and looks pretty good with my featherweight machine. The removable magnetic mount works great when I box up my featherweight and take it to retreats, and it fits nicely in the case so I don't forget it. I'd give it 10 stars if I could! This is a great value, so many Featherweight accessories get upcharged because it is a niche collectors market. If you're considering these for a Featherweight, just get them. The only drawback is yes, you will have one more thing to plug in when you go quilting, but I found that it was actually easier than charging a battery operated lamp (which might not stay bright the whole time you are sewing), and / or fiddling around with USB blocks and USB cords.

Best Light for Vintage Sewing Machines
Wow! these lights are so great! They have circular 2 sided tape incuded - one side is put onto your sewing machine, other side attaches to a metal plate, which is also included. The light then has a magnet attached, which securely attaches to the metal plate. I attachedto the side near the sewing machine's on/off switch. then the flexible lamp stand can reach around back side of machine, lighting up your workspace/ stitches. Bright LED light! Especially handy with vintage machines, which only have incandescent lights build in.

Perfect combination of output and flexibility
After years of trying different battery powered magnetic option for localized lighting in my shop I came across these. They are so good that I've bought two more. Magnetic base is strong, low profile, and works. The flexible gooseneck is perfect. Easy to move, yet always holds it's position. No sag. The LEDs seem to be perfect as well, delivering plenty of light right where you want it. I first installed one on a drill press. It was so perfect for getting the light exactly where I needed it, I hardwired it into the drill press power. I've now got them on machines all over the shop. Lathe, belt sander, bench grinder. Just love them. Your search is over for the affordable retirement light. Highly recommended.

Great for house and shop
Very bright, magnetic base is strong. Comes with plenty of metal disks to use on multiple non magnetic surfaces. Could have a longer cord.

These are great little lights! I use them on my band saws, lathe and scroll saw. very bright and they have a strong magnet. I plan on buying more for my drill press and any place I need a little more light.

Amazing little lights, true color
Spouse is a machine shop hobbyist, I do various art and accessories. Both of us needed some task/spot lighting with true daylight, and were both tired of USB plug in or wall wart charger type ones. Ordered one set of these. Smaller than expected but they plug into 110. Okay, turn it on. WOW. Bright. Nice true daylight. We each took one to experiment with. For small task area lighting, wonderful. The base magnet is powerful and it STICKS. No wobbly clamp or clip. Downside, it does need iron/steel metal to stick to. There are provided tiny circles with some awesome 3M glue, one for each. SO they can be put somewhere non metallic as long as you make sure that is where you want it, prep the surface, and glue the disk on (peel and stick and there is a 2 sided glue on disk, and a metal disk to stick to that that has one side covered with a blue protective plastic film that comes off easy. So peel, stick, peel, peel off the blue, stick the metal, and attach the light). It works in the bathroom for a 'leave on nightlight' that is put in the right place to allow one to do whatever they need to do at 2 am. Lighting up a small work area next to my computer for night time close up work. Lighting up where a line up of a tool for shop work (band saw, miter saw, drill press). Put one under a metal workbench to light up to find stuff dropped into the black hole under there. Next to sewing machine to add enough light to see.... list goes on and on. One day of us both experimenting and I ordered more sets. Only thing I don't know is how well they will hold up, yet. Both in shop and in house, but. Will update on that later. Well worth it per unit. Note that the gooseneck is quite flexible but somewhat 'short' so it does have to be close to the place to illuminate. Base is plastic, bottom has the honking strong magnet (not so strong that one has to be careful about being between it and metal), gooseneck is metal, head is plastic. It doesn't really want to sit stable by itself, it is meant to be stuck down to metal in some way. Not recommended for high humidity or wet situations or conditions, it's not water resistant or proof. Head does heat up, I can wrap hand around it, but it maybe should be kept away from small kids and pets.

Bright Magnetic Base Light
This is a great light, but I almost see it more as a tool in my uses. You can place this light anywhere there's a metal surface using the strong magnetic base. The company even provides metal discs if your surface isn't ferrous metal, say like plastic or aluminum. So really, you can use it with all of your lighting needs. The light also is switched in the base, so you can leave it plugged in and switch it on and off as needed. I like that the switch is integrated into the base and not half way down the cord like a lamp. Has a better quality feel and also I don't have to find the switch somewhere behind my machine to turn it off and on. I personally use this light with my shop tool machines. I have a nice "yellow" brand chop saw that this light works with to ensure I can see the blade and work piece well. I also use it on my multi shop tool that has lathe, drill press, saw and other capabilities. I just leave one at each work peice and adjust it as needed using the flexible neck for my light position. The light is constructed well throughout. The only part the is a bit on the weak side I would say is the light shroud itself. The plastic seems thin and possibly brittle. I haven't had issues yet, but in a shop environment, it is questionable how long until it gets cracked etc. my advice to the company is to make an additional model that is maybe rubberized, or has a rubber jacket to make it more industrial and sell it as meant for the shop environment. Overall I am pleased to have low cost lighting for my tools. Although this isn't recommended for the light of heard DIYer, many users have had success taking these lights and using them to integrate into machines for the light source but not necessarily needing the base and flexible neck. I haven't done this, but could see it being very easy to use this as a 'kit' to custom light something.

Great shop light!!
A great shop light! My chief concern when choosing was the hold of the magnet (as well as the brightness of the light). I'm very pleased with the strong magnet as well as the light intensity. Excellent value!
