GET THE 300 SERIES!!
First of all you shoppers don't get the 200 series..they're loud I could've heard mine 20' away whining and groaning that's why I switched to the 300 series now for the pros and con of the 330, pro : this version is dead silent I could stand inches over it running at 70% and can't hear a sound!! if you have a peninsula tank like I have this is the powerhead for you with all the different settings options it moves a ton of water clear down to the opposite end of the tank (and I have a 180g ) revolves around sweeping detritus in its wake and providing that rippling surface water for gas exchange and increased ph clearly value for moneyCon : it's a magnet for algae buildup and require regular maintenance...as most pumps do but more so for the gyre due to the extensive surface area however in my book the pros definitely outweighs the cons and still deserves 5 stars my absolute recommendation for the maxpect gyre 300 series

Annual update
The media could not be loaded. Jan 3 2022)I installed this unit on a 75 gallon freshwater tank last January. Its a quiet unit with a lot of flow. I keep it on low speeds for that reason. At 10% I can't even hear it, 30% is a noticable but quiet buzz. It moves more than enough water in my environment.Other than quarterly tank cleanings; this unit has ran for about 350 days and shows no sign of wearing out or slowing down.It handles anything that can make it through the grill without issues. Good design. I like it.Jan 7 2023)It's still running 2 years straight.I only power it off for water changes. No noticable changes in noise, power seems the same.

It is what it is...
I purchased this under the implication that it was the cloud model and was sorely confused why I could not connect it to the app before going back and taking a second look. I had asked and received two answers stating it was the cloud edition - one was from the seller and another from another consumer. I did receive a maxspect gyre, but its the older edition and the cloud controller is an additional purchase whereas if I had just bought one marketed as cloud, it would have come with the controller. I'm happy with the purchase and the wavemaker, but not happy with the limited controller and wish I had been better informed by the seller.

Better than the icecap!
All gyre units are pricey… however after struggling with my icecap for years… the parts were wearing down faster than I could replace them. Construction was solid and straightforward and programming was a breeze. Even used the pre program and it worked fantastic!Hopefully this will last more than 3 years!!

Not worth 300$ buy icecap
Had the xf250 for years was a good pump finally went out tried to replace with this xf330, doesnt come with any extra impellers like the 250 did, they want you to buy an extra unit to be able to use wifi to control it even tho its on the box as if you could just use it. I will be sending this back and going with icecap. I dont think i will be buying anything made by maxspect as i feel like they are a ripoff and there are a few other gyre producing companies that are a lot cheaper on the wallet and come with more features.

Not everything I though it could be.
No problems with the seller. Item was shipped promptly and was as advertised when I received it. As for the product, not everything I thought it could be. One of the controller buttons stick and the 330 really doesn’t move much water. I have a 6’ tank and with the pump positioned at one end running at 100%. Even at this speed there is very little water moving at the other side. I purchased an additional pump, a 350 this time, for the opposite side of the tank. Night and day difference. Think cool summer breeze on the lake vs typhoon in the pacific. I would not recommend the 330 for anything more that maybe a 55gal tank. The 350 on the other hand handles the job on my 125 more than sufficiently at 50%
