[Dual WiFi, PIR] Tonton 2K Portable Wireless Security Camera System with 7" IPS Touchscreen Monitor, 4CH NVR, 2PCS 3MP Outdoor Spotlight Cameras, DC Powered, 2 Way Audio, Colorful Night, 32GB (Black)

I have been using the Tonton 4-camera, wireless security system with the 7" portable monitor for over a month now. Overall, if you are savvy with technology, read the 180 questions/answers above, review the amazon.com listing page and read the included setup sheets you can make good use of the system. If you are a technophobe or just not familiar with computer software systems...find a savvy friend or a different system.I rated the system 5 stars since I fit all of the above criteria and have configured the system and placed the cameras to get what I want. I am set up for IR at night, color during the day. The video is good enough to recognize people passing by on the street but don't expect to be able to read license plates.I like the overall video quality for my purposes and am particularly impressed with the night-vision, IR feature. It is about as good as daylight color, just in black and white. I wish the sensitivity was a bit lower as I pick up almost every vehicle and cat that pass by my home. I did the selective blocking of grid areas and it helps with vehicles, but one cannot block out feral cats without compromising the security (human intruders).As for the 32GB micro SD card, you can upgrade to 128GB max but the 32GB SD card took over a month to fill up and start rewriting (with four cameras). The competing systems with 1-3TB hard drives are overkill in my opinion. Also, the reliability of solid state is far superior to a spinning ultra thin disk. Even if the micro SD card fails, you can get a 128GB replacement card for under $20.The portability of the monitor/controller is nice. The included Li-ion batteries allow 1-1.5 hours before the unit needs to be plugged into a 120 VAC outlet. If you desire longer life, you can buy batteries with more amp-hours right here on amazon.com.One last thought...if you are mounting the cameras away from outlets, you are going to need outlets within 6 feet of the cameras or purchase appropriate power jumper cables. Tonton as well as other vendors sell cables ranging from a couple of feet to 10 meters (33 feet). I needed jumpers for all four cameras.NEW INFORMATION: A severe thunderstorm fried the 7" monitor/controller (price refunded by the Asurion protection plan) so I purchased the two-camera system to replace it as the four original cameras were likely okay.I paired each camera to the new controller and the system worked as well as the last one. The Tonton customer service group did a good job of sending me links to the Tonton website with instructional videos. They also promptly followed up on my one question about the new controller/monitor.In my opinion, anyone purchasing a Tonton multi-camera security system should purchase the Asurion protection plan and take advantage of their customer service support if there are setup or use questions. I am impressed by the continued support of the Tonton support team.

I am happy with this 4 camera system. I have had a similar Harbor Freight system for years to monitor animals in the backyard and it has decent picture quality even in dark. Last year I bought an “upgrade” Lorex system which was a total disappointment. Daylight picture very nice but to me the software not user friendly and infrared night vision absolutely useless. I returned it.When I saw this Tonton system I was skeptic about its quality. But it surpasses the H/F unit in picture quality day and night. Motion sensing at the middle level is good enough for cats. The software is very user friendly and has great features like which parts of the area to trigger in and scheduled times for each camera to record. I do not need all the recordings during the day when the leaves fall in the yard, but I have one camera by the front door and it is set to record 24 hours a day. I really like that the recording starts 5 seconds before motion detection. Something the H/F one does but not available on Lorex. Also the monitor will show the camera which triggered an alarm full screen for a few seconds. And a double tap on the split screen will bring each camera full screen, very easy. The recordings are easy to access, view and delete. Video format is *.mp4 if I bring the card to my PC to look at the recording on a big monitor.I had a problem with one camera’s base mount but customer service Abby communicated promptly, courteously and addressed all my questions. I am very pleasantly surprised with the communications.One question was if there is a software change available for the alert on the base station. The H/F one had a polite ding but this one sounds like a siren even on the lowest setting too pronounced for me. No special software available, no big deal, I will open up the unit and change the sound myself, turned sound off for right now.I recommend Tonton for the quality of product and customer service.

The cameras are very good, as well as the monitor. The app works well so I can monitor and talk from my phone.I had some technical issues and contacted support by email. They always responded.This does not come with a user's manual so I was guessing about how to set certain things up...thus contacting support. An example would be I noticed only one of four cameras turning on the spotlight. Support sent three settings to change in the menu and solved the problem.

I have owned several different brands of wireless security camera systems very similar to this one, that is they had two cameras and a portable monitor. No question, the Tonton is the best. Highly recommended!Over the years, as new features became available, such as night vision, Internet connectivity and higher resolution, I would upgrade my system. My last system was 720p and triggered on every movement, and I mean even bugs flying in front of the camera. The night vision was so poor that it was basically useless. Then the internal battery pack, which was not user serviceable, started bulging and cracking the plastic on the back of the monitor. This gave me a good reason to purchase the Tonton system and am I ever happy that I did.The Tonton gives me every option that I ever wanted with one exception. I would like to be able to turn off the Infrared LEDs at times, but I don't think there is any system that will do that. The build quality is very good all around, and I was especially impressed with the camera mounts... they are beefy and solid. By far the best mounts that I have ever seen on these types of cameras. Image quality is stunning, both day and night. On my old system, I could barely recognize myself at night. There would have been no way to identify a stranger. The Tonton has very good night vision. The batteries on the Tonton are common 18650 which are user replaceable. That's a big plus to me, but you don't even need the batteries unless you want to run the monitor in a portable mode. I cannot speak to long term performance because I have only had it for a few days. I did need some tech support (to find a setting in the menu) and they were very responsive.The cameras auto-synced right out of the box and I was blown away by the 1080 resolution, coming from 720p. To me, 1080 is a must have! I am a very demanding consumer. I have high expectations of products that I buy, and I was not disappointed with the Tonton. In fact I am thrilled with it.Bottom Line: The Tonton system has amazing quality and features, especially considering the very modest price. Then consider that you get the 18650 batteries and 32GB memory card included, now that's a great deal.

So I’ve had this for over a year now and at first it was decent but my expectations of this system should have had me sending it back or selling it locally. First the whole set up of the system on the screen was a bit of a joke and then the settings themselves don’t help this system as it fails to do as it should. At night it will alert that a moth or cat is running and it identifies as a person. Then the excessive amount of lag time from motion to the alert on my phone (if it alerts half the time) was at the longest 5 minutes. Now that test was done after restarting my home internet, using wired Ethernet cable to one camera and then triggering movement while the alert phone was not connected to WiFi and was in the home. Same test was done after another internet reset to make sure it was running at optimal speed and signal strength, this time WiFi was used for the one camera and movement triggered to send alert to phone. Both tests showed around a 5 minute lag from triggered on monitor screen to alert on my phone. Also I’ll add that the audio is horrible and the two way communication doesn’t work half time. Would I buy it again or recommend it, NO I WOULD NOT. My Yi home cameras have served me better for longer periods than this system and that’s running non outdoor cams outside with minimal cover!

PARECE Q LO Q HACEN ES PARA Q ME CANSE Y DESISTA DEL RECLAMO!!.ESTOY DECEPCIONADA--------------------Por increíble que Parezca AL VENDEDOR NO IMPORTAN LOS COMENTARIOS NEGATIVOS PUES NO CASO HACE! NO HE PODIDO CONTACTARLO Y EL SISTEMA YA NO FUNCIONA!!! QUE FRAUDE DE CAMARAS!!! SON INUTILES! PERDIDA DE DINERO!.. Me siento estafada!Comenzare mencionando q estaba muy emocionada con esta cámara por el hecho de ser la pantalla digital al mismo tiempo que el el NVR lo que ahorra espacio. , así es que eso es bueno…Y lo mejor aún que me encanta es que la batería le dura un par de horas así es que si se va la luz ella seguirá trabajando. Lo que es un plus y lo que me animó a NO devolverla a pesar de los contras que tiene pues tengo un sistema adicional y cámaras IP y por esa razón aguanté y son:La cámara NO graba más de 30 segundos y lo hace en forma de clips así es q si algo importante pasa no se puede ver ni completo ni corrido!.El volumen de los micrófonos de las cámaras era demasiado bajo pero se escuchaba, ahora ya NO se escucha nada lo que es muy malo!Las alertas (sirenas) suenan en la NVR y no en las cámaras cámaras donde deben de sonar!.Como dije tengo otra cámara grande que trabaja muy bien en la otra esquina de la casa así es que por eso decidí ignorar esta falla y obviamente los dejé desactivadas para que NO me despierten a la media noche como la primera vez!NO notifica cuando detectan los movimientos ni en la App ni por mi correo pese a tenerlo configurado, aunque eso tampoco me importó mucho otra vez por mis otra cámaras de otra marca por supuesto que si lo hacen en la misma APP EseeCloud así es que esta descartada que sea la App.La resolución del modo nocturno es muy pobre de muy baja gama al modo infrarrojo, así es qué hay que dejarla a modo a todo color para que mejore la cálida pero con la desventaja que la luz pasará prendida todo el tiempo por supuesto lo que es malo pues me subió la factura de la electricidad.Otra de las cosas molestosas que tiene éste sistema es que la pantalla se apaga aún que esté las personas al frente de las cámaras afuera de mi casa, y eso es porque tengo configurada a modo ahorro de energía entonces a éste TONTO NVR NO le importa que haya alguien acechando mi casa. Simplemente llega el minuto y se apaga!./ soy de las personas que no puede dormir con Luz así es que por eso ña configuración que se apague la pantalla en un minuto, PERO NO SERÍA LÓGICO QUE SI ESTÁ TRANSMITIENDO EN VIVO UN SUCESO NO DEBERÍA DE SEGUIR HACIÉNDOLO SIN IMPORTAR EL TIEMPO!!.Se activa la pantalla hasta por un bicho de luz o por cualquier animal aunque está la “sensibilidad baja” y solo para humanos pero eso es mentira.Ahora lo peor es que aunque ponga la pantalla para que permanezca prendida en el día, No grabará nunca más de 30 segundos por clips y por limitados minutos..Y bueno como dije Tengo otro sistema que si funciona pero quería poner otra cámara de bala que no sea llamativa como la otra por eso decidí comprar y por el precio que fue tentador con la pantal táctil y eso me enamoró pues eso si trabaja y podría decir que es lo único bueno que tiene.Lo que me disgustó desde hace 3 días es que ya no está detectando todos los movimientos aún que la persona esté frente a la cámara y eso ya me pasó con las dos cámaras tanto la que tengo en la entrada de la casa como en la parte de la cocina, y aunque no es siempre pero el hecho que NO lo haya captado un par de veces es mi presencia eso si ya me preocupa pues NO se si vaya a fallar cuando más la necesite.No bueno en base a mi experiencia y muy a pesar que no me gustaba la idea de devolverla pese a todos los puntos en contras que he manisfestado pues además no me pareció caro los $150 que pagué por un sistema de NVR portátil y con pantalla táctil pero el hecho de que ya me haya fallando en la detección y grabación por es razón le voy a poner 2 Estrellas.Y si No se hubiera cerrado la ventana de devolución la devolvería pues ya me aburrí de que grabe al gato y a todos los bichos deportándome la Luz de la pantalla pues eso también es bueno que haga pero sería solo para los casos de detección humana!!

I LOVE how the display is battery powered! If you need to get up and check something in another room, you can just unplug the display and take it with you. This also makes installation a breeze. This is perfect for businesses and family members who might be intimidated or confused by using a mobile app or traditional IP camera software. You just mount the cameras, get power to them, turn on the display, and it's up and running. There's no complicated setup process. I also love these Tonton cameras because they utilize PIR sensors for motion detection. Once you use a security camera system, the first thing you'll notice is that you're inundated with false motion alerts. PIR sensors require not just motion to set them off, but a heat signature large enough to be a human. That way, when you get a motion alert, you KNOW it's something important. I was incredibly suspicious that such a small, battery powered display could actually put out a signal strong enough to reach 300 feet so I went out to a field and tested them. To my utter surprise, the signal was still at over 50% strength a full 300 feet away, and the video feed was still buttery smooth. I set this up for a client that wanted a system to monitor their newborn baby, but wanted to actually see them, and not just rely on a traditional audio-only baby monitor. Similar systems cost 2-3x more, and this system fit perfectly in their budget. I've received multiple compliments from them about how much they love the peace of mind it provides.

I liked this Wifi portable NVR so much, I ordered 2 of this model.Build quality is absolutely solid and clean.Set up could not be easier. Basically, just power on the NVR and cameras. Select your local Wifi network and press a button to pair cameras, and NVR.The monitor is touch screen and allows you to view 1 camera at a time, or all at once. You can navigate, adjust setting, control recording time, and settings all from the portable unit. You can zoom into a point of interest. Record based off a schedule or motion detection. Back up video to pc or phone.There is also a useful feature that allows you to speak through the camera to whoever might be present.Image quality is great and night vision is good, although I cant speak on the outdoor performance because both of mine are for indoors.I have contacted customer support a few times with questions and they were fantastic every time!Really very helpful and polite.It's been over a year now since owning these units, and I've seen that they constantly keep the remote view app up to date and improved with new features.After all the years with numerous other brand / systems with their sub par quality and crappy clunky software; I thought it was take it or leave it with NVR systems; until TonTon came along showed me different and impressed me thoroughly!
