is the lesche digging tool left handed or right?

The tool feels the same in both hands I'm right handed. The serrated edge is on the right side, but I only really notice it when I'm cutting into roots. The blade is centered and can take a lot of prying with out bending. This is a very good digging tool. Hope this was helpful Lionel.

Can you use this tool to cut root and separate perennials?

Yes. I moved to Alabama from Texas and did not know I needed this "soil knife"; but the soil here is so different, and difficult to dig without injuring the plant roots. This tool solves that problem. I used it yesterday to dig and separate hosts. It will cut through roots.

Is this a good choice for digging up ginger bulbs in overgrown planting?

Hi, I have never had ginger bulbs, but it is cutting through heavy tubers from some grasses planted by a pond. It is very, very heavy duty. Made like a tank. Cut through some heavy roots from some perennial plants. I had a hori-hori knife, and I will just toss it, because this is 100 times better.

Ive purchased one already and it works great!....My questions is, can I buy an additional belt holder for this item?

Go to a shoe repair shop and have them build one for you. I have had many custom hunting items built by the people at shoe repair shops. They have heavy duty sewing machines and riveting presses. Give it a shot, if they say no try another or go online to find help.
