Q: What is the diameter of this brush? Is it good for short to medium?

I believe it is 2 1/4". And yes, I have shoulder length hair and it is perfect. At first I was nervous it would be to small but it is not

Q: the description says the barrel of the brush is vented but it doesn't appear to be in the photos. is it actually vented?

I have the two smallest sizes of this brush and they are not vented. Perhaps the larger one is.

Q: Can you separate the brush from the handle and pull the bristles out ? For cleaning and sanitation

No but they do make a great brush cleaner. Just removes hair does not santize

Q: What is the dimensions?

It is a very difficult brush to measure but if you measure from one tip of bristle to another, it is 2 1/2". The height of the bristle area (head of the brush) is 4". The entire brush (top to bottom) is about 9 1/4". Hope that this helps!
