Dickies for me, period.
06/15/15 This is my third Dickie's chefs coat and it won't be my last. They are the best chefs coats on the market and for the dollar. I have short sleeved, long sleeved, etc. When I have half a dozen I'll take a break from buying them. That doesn't solve what I do with the other brand coats that I won't wear anymore.12/16/16 update.I now have five Dickies chefs coats and I stick by my original review. This Dickies coat is my favorite style. It has the cool mesh back and short sleeves so even on the warmest day i stay cool. I get advertisements for many other brands of chefs wear and I don't even read them since I can't really improve on them. The only thing I do to my chefs coats is I cut the buttons off and sew my own buttons on them. It just gives me a little individuality in the kitchen. Otherwise Dickies wear is perfect chefs gear.

Great Quality and Value
This was a great inexpensive chef coat, I purchased another after my first time wearing this. The Cool Breeze material was such an improvement over my classic chef coats and it was much more comfortable as well. My only complaint is that my digital thermometer was too big to fit in the sleeve pockets. I used these while employed as a Kitchen Manager at Applebee's, and they served me very well for endless 10-14 hour days in a very hot and crowded kitchen. It also had a professional enough appearance that if I needed to make a table visit I could comfortably interact with a customer without feeling like a slob (don't buy white chef coats).

If you cook, you need this!
I'm glad I bought this - I was frying catfish when a helper threw in a bunch of wet, frozen, ice chucked fish. Oil exploded all over the place. I got about a half a quart of oil to the chest, but this heavy cloth saved me from some major burns. The helper had to go to the ER with second degree burns.Despite the heavy weight of the cloth, it isn't hot to work in a kitchen with tons of frying, woks, and steak ovens. I only cook for fun, not for a living, so a professional chef may disagree with me. That's fine. I'm still wearing this when I cook.

Didn’t fit for a big guy.
I usually wear 4 xl in chef coats. I found this one a bit too snug around my stomach. It was also a bit too short. And I’m not tall. About 5”10. Overall didn’t meet what I expected. The quality of the coat seems good though.

Comfortable and fits and washes well!
Very comfortable. Washes well! No wrinkles. Love Dickies chef coats! I also bought the long sleeve ones. Best $$$ I ever spent

Nice light jacket, if you don't mind layering up
Product exactly as described, my only warning to buyers is the breathable mesh fabric they make the top half of the back with is VERY thin, and you will almost certainly need a t-shirt under it (which, in my eyes, kind of defeats the purpose of it being so thin in the first place). Maybe in a color other than white it wouldn't matter so much.
