wattage 9 watts what is the equivalent ordinary bulb

Not really comparable to a bulb - more like a small torch light spot - battery driven not mains.

Screws are enclosed in the base when you fit the batteries

I need to be able to turn it off when not needed. Where is the on/off switch? Is it easily accessible ?

There isn’t an on/off switch, but I’ve mounted mine so I can get ready access to it, and it is easy to take out a battery if not wanted. To be fair, I’ve had this light up for over a year now and during the summer when it wasn’t needed it didn’t come on at all so not really needed on off switch.

Are the batterys aa or aaa. The description is contradicting.thank you

AA batteries are required. Mine was installed around three months ago and, so far, the lighting level has not dimmed.
