I used these to push the break pistons back on an Audi Q5. The break piston assembly was quite big, and it cleared the thick metal housing to press on the pads. It was strong enough for this purpose and did not distort or fail. The paint finish did chip off after a few use, but if you are using it indoors and keeping it dry, it should not be a problem. I have had it for many years, and it did not rust where the paint chipped. This is not for smaller jobs because the clamp is heavy. It is not meant for projects like holding pipes since the pipe would loosen and be a hazard. It is not designed for this purpose. The stainless head is on swivel, so it can clamp things that are not parallel to the large C portion. The small thin rod for tightening and unscrewing the press is little weak. It you have to really force the clamp screw it might bend and possibly break. Use caution. It is great for clamping flat objects to a working table. That is what this is designed for. For the cost, I would recommend it.

I used this clamp to help with a brake repair job and it worked perfectly. I don’t know the exact name of the part I was pressing but it was the piece you need to compress to get the new brake pads in place. This clamp had plenty of strength and gave me good control without slipping or shifting. For a basic tool like this, it felt really solid and well-made. Definitely a handy addition to my toolbox and I’d trust it for similar jobs in the future.

These clamps are heavy duty (4 of them weigh about 5 pounds). The clamp mechanism is solid & works well. The bar to turn the screw is large, for an easy grip & tightening, & the head of the push part swivels, to make for a better grip on the item being held. The finish of the head of the push part is smooth & level, unlike many other clamps I've owned, so it grips better & doesn't damage the item being held. My only complaint is that all 4 of my clamps arrived with the paint coating chipping in numerous spots, & I received paint "splinters" in my skin. This forces me to either sand the clamps or to wear protective gloves while using them, neither of which should be necessary. The paint chipping may have been due to poor packing by the seller, but most of my clamps in normal situations are going to be dropped onto cement sooner or later, & the paint shouldn't chip off as easily as is the case with these clamps. I have other brands of clamps where the paint has remained intact after years of use (Jorgensen, for example).

I recently used this clamp when I was replacing the brakes on my SUV. I was able to retract the cylinder of my brakes with very little effort put into it at all. I plan to use this guy for a lot more tasks. It is sturdy, adjustable to fit almost any small job, easy to grip and even easier to use! It's not too heavy but feels durable enough to last for a long time. With such a wide range of functionality, I definitely believe the value for the money is there. Highly recommended!

It technically does the job, but it was much too heavy for my purposes. I returned it and got a smaller one, and that's now working out :)

The Irwin deep throat C clamp feels solid and is a well finished product. The opening is 4 inches and depth is near same. Recommended for areas where your requirement is for a deeper / longer holding is required. The screw is smooth to move around.
