Best Barska Scope I Have Owned
I have owned several Barska scopes over the years for various rifles and purposes. Mostly, I have used them as cost effective solutions to use on my children's rifles. But, as I have stated in the title, this if by far the best Barska scope I have owned. I believe that every product should be rated against its peers, so I won't waste your time comparing it to my Remington 700P's Leupold VX-3 or an ACOG that I have used during my time in the military. I will compare it to similarly priced (Bushnell, UTG, etc), budget scopes and optics. In that regard, this scope is AMAZING. The lenses are crystal clear and the whole package is very well built. My only complaint would be that it is quite heavy, but I think I this ends up being a tribute to its sturdy construction. As some others have noted, the 1x is not exactly 1x. It is close, but not spot on... I would say about 1.05x to 1.1x. It is close enough that you can shoot with both eyes open for about 10 to 20 seconds before your vision starts messing up. It works for initial engagements, but you eventually have to close your non-dominant (support) eye during sustained shooting. It's not perfect, but for about $100, it's pretty darn close.I have had the opportunity to bring this particular scope to the range twice since mounting it on my Colt LE6940 and have put nearly 1,000 rounds through it. It has not came loose from its rails and has not lost zero. My testing has been pretty extensive including rapid firing and rough transitions into different shooting positions. At one point, I even knocked my weapon onto the ground from the bench while working on a shooting position with my aforementioned Remington 700P. There is a nice scuff in the scope's housing from the fall, but it maintained zero...Kudos to Barska.I didn't make this purchase lightly. I watched several YouTube videos bashing the scope, but read other reviews praising it. When Amazon offered a $20 discount, I made the purchase and am happy that I did.In one such YouTube review, the reviewer (in two separate videos) complained that it lost zero after about 60 rounds multiple times. I use Lock-Tite on everything that I attach to any of my weapons' rail systems, so I am guessing that might be where he failed. The crosshairs are very fine (which I prefer). The red/green lighting makes seeing the crosshairs easier in low light (as well as during the day). The view is incredibly clear, even when zoomed to the maximum 4x. The eye relief is excellent.I would say that the only complaint that I have about this scope is that I actually mounted it backwards the first time. With the lens covers attached, it is pretty easy to mix it up (especially when you get excited about new toys like I do). The problem is that you can actually see through the scope and see the crosshairs from the other side in 1x zoom...though it appears somewhat fuzzy. Until I caught my error, I was pretty disappointed with the scope. Afterwards, I love it.Bottom Line: If you are looking for an amazing budget optic, you can't go wrong with this one.

Great scope for this price range
This scope is a great value for the price. If you are expecting this scope to compete head to head with others that cost six times the price, you might be disappointed. If you are looking for good performance without breaking the bank, this one works great. This scope is bright and clear throughout the zoom range as long as you set it up with the proper eye relief. The turrets adjust easily without tools and the locking collars work fine to keep you from accidentally shifting the zero. Once you have zeroed your weapon, the turrets can easily be re-set to change the zero settings to match your weapon. The recticle has a fine center portion, making precision aiming easier. The illumination works well, but not really needed in many situations were I will be using my weapon. The scope also comes with well written instructions (something sorely lacking in most of today's products).Negative: 1X is not a true 1X - there is a slight magnification at this setting, but you should still be able to use it with both eyes open at CQ. The description hints that this scope can be set up and used to cowitness with your iron sights. There is not enough eye relief on this scope to allow for this type of setup to work (and you would need true 1X for this to be effective anyway).I agree with other reviewers on using blue Locktite on the threads of the mount hardware. This is just good general practice with any scope mount used on centerfire rifles. As of this writing, I've only fired a couple hundred rounds of standard M855 62gr 5.56 ammo using the scope, but the scope mount is solid and I have not experienced any shifting of zero. I would not hesitate to recommend this scope to a friend.

Like the locking feature on the elevation and windage knobs
Finally got to the range yesterday and was able to zero in my scope with no problems. Like the locking feature on the elevation and windage knobs. Quick adjustments and had it hitting nice groupings at 50 and 100 yards in no time. As many have said, this scope is just as advertised. Good clear optics and functions nicely. The one important thing to remember is using Loctite on the screws for the scope rings as well as the mount. I've run about 80 rounds through my AR with this scope on. I did apply loctite to the scope rings, but forgot the mount screws which I only tightened hand tight. After about 20 rounds, the mount fasteners were coming loose. Just a dab of loctite on those and it will be fine. If you're older like me, you'll need to take the cover off the rear optic so you can adjust the focus (no way to do that with the cover installed). The 1-4 zoom was perfect for what I wanted. At mag of 1, you can quickly sight almost as well as a red dot, but at 4x, you can see out to 100 yards no problem and place nice clean groupings. Well worth the money. I only gave it 4 out of 5 due to the poor mount design. I think they could easily improve that to something more positive and perhaps even put a locking feature on the threads to prevent it from backing off. Otherwise, great little scope and I'm very happy with it. MUCH better than the "do everything 3 in 1" scope I paid less for, but was total garbage. Returned that one and got this one and am MUCH happier! You get what you pay for, but for the price, this one fits the bill!

If only it had bigger eye relief. But can't beat it for price
Never like anything under 40mm, but it is what it is. Was looking for a set 3x or 4x that wasn't massively large, and this fits the bill.

Great scope for the price
After reading all the reviews I decided to try this scope out. Delivery was super fast, scope is exactly as advertised and works great. Had to loosen the tube mounts to straighten the rectile but that's no big deal. Nice and clear, all illumination levels work flawlessly and quite pleased with this purchase as Amazon had it cheaper than everywhere else I looked. TheScope can be used even if the batteries are dead which is a huge bonus. The only negative is it's got a little weight to it but for what you get that wasnt enough to warrant losing a star, now it's not a top level scope but if you expect a top level scope for this price your off your rocker and need professional help.

Very nice look and performance
Purchased to install on a M-4 for target shooting. Very nice look and performance. Vision not as clear as Nikon but you can not beat the price and the quality. Serious scope with sturdy construction.

I own a few Barska scopes. Why pay more when these scopes work, and well one might add.
