The glass around the rim breaks off
I love the wide mouth, the look of the jar and had high expectations for this jar, I bought several. I am very disappointed at the quality. I have not had them more than 6 months and already I have had several of the jars chip and break off chunks of glass around the rim. I am careful when I close the lid and when I pull down the metal lever to seal the jar and still the glass breaks off. I have been throwing them away as the rim breaks. These jars are expensive compared to others on the market and are not measuring up to the price, or the claimed quality. I am wasting my money with these jars and not happy about it at all.I sent a message to the seller and never received a response, then tried to call, left a message only to be left out to dry. I would look at other products and save your money.

Glass Shatters Around Rim
I have used Le Parfait jays for over 30 years and have always been satisfied. So I didn't hesitate to purchase this set of three jars.Just a few months later, two of the three have shattered into shards along the rims, with tiny sharp pieces falling into the food stored in the jars.Unacceptable and dangerous. And, of course, outside the return period. Complete waste of money.

perfect size for quick pickled onions or snacks
These are the perfect size for keeping M&Ms for snacking on the kitchen counter, or just fits a sliced up onion and brine to make quick pickled onions. However, once you use one for the onions you won't want to put M&Ms in it. Don't make the same mistake I did. The rubber does absorb the odor of the onion and will transfer it to anything you put in the jar after. Onion flavored M&Ms are not popular, trust me. I think that soaking it in lemon juice and letting it air out finally helped get rid of the scent.

Expensive but worth it.
I’ve been using the Le Parfait brand of wire-bale jars and terrines for years, mainly for storing baking ingredients and occasionally food storage. I handwash only, have never put these in the dishwasher, because I learned many years ago what will happen to the wire bales. I see they now have stainless steel ones, but I would still hand wash those too. These are too pricey to risk. That said, pricey, but I never have to worry about these not being airtight. Another thing I’ve found is that the smaller ones are super for storing cut onions with absolutely no smelly odors leaching out, and even the strongest of smells can be washed out to reuse the jars. As for storing refrigerated or frozen baking ingredients like bulk yeast, milk powders, etc., these cant be beat—no moisture gets in.

Almost great
I purchased these jars in several sizes. I had older jars of the same brand, but the metal had corroded a bit over time. I liked the idea of having a nicer appearance with stainless steel. The problem is that, although I checked to make sure they were dishwasher safe (I think the answer posted was yes - but hand washing is recommended), the metal has a corroded appearance after washing them one time in the dishwasher. I also struggle to get the rubber seals back on after washing them. The metal on ones that I hand washed also had a bit of discoloration after using them in a four hour sous vide. Although I still love the style, I’ve started to switch over to a different brand of canning jars made in Germany - the ones that have two small metal clamps. They seem to be meeting my expectations better than these have. I do want to complement the company for how well they were packed with recyclable material.

Fantastic Jars
Used the largest sizes of these glass terrines to replace plastic containers for sugars, couscous, quinoa, nuts, etc. on a shelf in my too-small pantry. I have the same number of containers but this stack and apparently have a smaller footprint than what I was previously using. Now there is room in front for smaller items. I can now see what I have and see exactly what I need so I am not buying duplicates of items. Bought a few extra just in case and they hold a soup and keep crackers fresh. Keep finding new uses for them. And they look great.

Great small size, well-made, a pantry must have.
I have been using le Parfait jars for a long time, and rely on them to keep contents dry and protected. This one was as others I’ve ordered, clamps shut very well, substantial, great small size for storing about a half cup of the spices I use a lot of. No, you CANNOT wash these in the dishwasher or the wire bale will oxidize. They have to be hand-washed. But if taken care of, these will last a very long time or until I drop one on the slate floor in the pantry early in the morning before I’ve had enough coffee to function less zombie-like. So glad to find these here. Well-packed.

Very nice with a “but”
I bought these containers to keep dry food like rice, pasta, etc. They are really very nice but I read that 32 oz equal 1 kg. When I tried to fill the container with 1 kg rice only hold half of the amount. I don’t know if I made a mistake or not. When I tried to close it the rubber circle did not stay down the cover but went down inside the container. I can see that it’s very safe but from all the containers I have from different companies, this is the first time I see the rubber stays practically inside the jar. Anyway they are nice and I can see the food is protected. Next time I will buy the biggest.
