Cute set of quality plastic turtles
I purchased this set of 12 tiny plastic turtles to use in a sensory activity with my dad as he recovered from his stroke. My sister and I (both well into middle-age) had a lot of fun playing with them and wondered where they were when we were growing up!They're just neat. You get 12 tiny turtles. No two turtles are painted the exact same way, although some effort is given to using "nature" colors -- no neon pink or green here. There are a few different body types included, although the distinctions among the "land dwelling" turtles are difficult to spot. My set had two swimming turtles with flatter shells and flippers -- my favorites of the group.Texturally they're a harder plastic with the slightest bit of give. You could send these into any environment: legos, refrigerator, sandbox, creek, jello, water beads, Barbie castle, and etc., and I think they'll recover quite nicely.Do I recommend this item? Yes, for children at least 3. (Supervised -- because tiny.)Is it giftable? Yes. Fun as a gift or part of a gift.Would this toy be a good one to donate? Yes. It would work for a wide range of ages, genders, and interests. No batteries needed.

Storytelling
I LOVE these little turtles! My background in getting them is that my wheelchair fell over backwards, and there I sat, as I humorously told my story, like a turtle on its back, arms and legs straight out, unable to move. Laughter pursues, and the next time I see the person who enjoyed my story, I tell them to shut their eyes and put out their hand, palm up. I place this tiny toy turtle on its back, then say to open their eyes. Oh! What laughter it brings! One lady said she was going to keep it on her dresser, just like I handed it to her. Each turtle is a different color, adding to the fun. Yes, I will buy these again. I will have to, as I have many more people to hear my story, giving them a turtle afterwards. By the way, I was a little sore for a few days after my fall, but did just fine!

They are just tiny hard plastic turtles painted with an awesome level of detail
This little pack of turtles was a big hit at preschool during the annual spring egg hunt. I wanted something small enough to fit into plastic Easter eggs, and these fit the bill (although they were very snug in the eggs). They are just tiny hard plastic turtles painted with an awesome level of detail. While I am no David Gruber, who is apparently a turtle expert according to a Google search, I was able recognize several types of turtles here. In my amateur opinion, they are all based on real turtles including both saltwater and freshwater turtles. The paint jobs **seem** accurate to me, but again, not an expert. They are high quality toys and are awesome for the price. They would make good stocking stuffers and could probably even be used in a classroom if turtles come up as a topic. I just took a picture of a couple of them to show the relative size.

Petite but very educational
These little turtles are really cute. So cute in fact my son now wants a real turtle as a pet. I purchased these to provide some hands on fun as we learned about turtles during our home school science lesson. Each turtle is different and some of them are even pretty accurate as far as turtle design goes. One observation my son made was that he could categorize well with the turtles. In helping my husband find the "perfect" turtle he started by asking "big head or small?" Then "bumpy or smooth shell". In the end he was left with one "perfect" turtle pet for my husband. Being able to have that observation experiment alone made it worth the price. Cute toy with some educational value - always a plus. However, these are small - so beware as they would be quite easy to lose and I wouldn't want them around a very small child (under the age of two).

My granddaughter loved them
My granddaughter loves turtles and she loved this set, even though they are tiny. She built a little "home" for them in a box, with some dirt, leaves, tiny rocks, and even made a TV for them. She enjoyed them more than some of the expensive toys I gave her.

2 yo loved them!
My 2 yo loved it as a Birthday gift. Plays with them in the tub and out for many hours and days. Suprisingly he didn't put these in his mouth, but they are a choking hazard so watch children closely.Unfortunately he has lost most of these over 30 days, but there are still a few left to play with. Other kids will want to see these too, so I'm guessing some were misplaced by others. Definitely got our money's worth with these. Will probably order again when all are lost.

Much smaller than I expected, and an extreme choking hazard! On top of all of that there is a no return policy that is not advertised upon ordering.
