Modelling and Sculpting the Figure

This book although we’ll intentioned, is not to the high standard anticipated - in content or presentation. Some of it is well done. I found it more like a dedicated personal project, published. I’m always keen to explore publications to recommend to students. Sorry, unfortunately this was disappointing. Compared to, say a Simblet publication …it fell short.

I attended a live sculpting course, where the author as compilled an extensive and clear explanation of various things to consider when sculpting. As an important thing to an artist is to know what is needed in order to do quality art work. Everything thing I needed has been found in the book. Amazing that some of the methods used here I had previously learned with the help of a tutor over a 10 week sculpting course in the Art Academy. Highly recommend this book to anyone interested in modelling and sculpting figures.

This is a great book for sculptures who have their work bronzed or moulded. But as I fire all my work it could have included sections that didn't require metal supports, but saying that It is a very inspirational book, fabulous photos and step by step instructions.

This book is more than just an essential companion for beginners and established artists - it is the must have Bible for sculpting the figure. It goes from the fundamental principals and on to provide everything you need to know to push your practice - enhancing the power of your art. Includes lots of gorgeous pictures which help make the narrative clear. Every figurative sculptor should have this book.

A practical publication not only for sculptors but for anyone interested in learning more about the human figure andthe creative process . Well presented and clear visuals for the appreciation of proportion , structure and movementof the body , with a wide variety of examples. The text also presents a refreshing view of ideas about the nature of creativity . Excellent .

As always really pleased with quick delivery. I have found the book very informative and it takes you back to basics by working through from 2D to 3D. A good buy.
