Algreen vs Lechuza Self Watering Pots. Both Good for Overwaterers
I have a lot of pots. Most of my pots are either Algreen or Lechuza because I like having a water reservoir. I am an overwaterer, at least I was until I started buying self-watering pots. It is still possible to overwater with a water reservoir, so I make sure that the top soil is dry before I fill the reservoir. I only have to water every 1 to 3 weeks with my self-watering pots. My fast growing herbs typically need watering once a week while my slower growing plants are okay for 2 to 3 weeks. Both brands are expensive but the time savings and aid with moisture control is worth it for me. I killed plants for years until I bought these pots.Algreen vs Lechuza:- Country of origin: Algreen pots are made in China, while Lechuza pots are made in Germany.- Pon: The Lechuza pots come with Pon (basically fancy gravel) that is supposed to make the self-watering system work better. I bought a large bag of Pon off Amazon that I use when I reuse a Lechuza pot or buy an Algreen pot.- Price: The Algreen pots are typically about $10 cheaper for the same size pot.- Quality: I have not noticed a difference. The water level indicator is almost identical and works just as well in both.- Style: The Lechuza pots tend to be better looking.Summary: I prefer my Lechuza pots. However, I buy a lot of pots, so typically I go with whichever one is one sale. This is my favorite Algreen pot. The silver finish is lovely and it is a good size for the price.

Comparable in function to Lechuza, noticeable difference in materials
Bought multiple on sale for a great price for less than half of Lechuza planters of comparable size/ soil and water capacity. Function so far seems the same as Lechuza, though there are noticeable differences in finishes and materials between the two brands. The Lechuzas always come impeccably finished and packed with all parts fitting and measuring perfectly. Algreen planters came well-packaged and cushioned but with heavy chemical/plastic odor and some surface powder and residue from the factory that needed to be cleaned before potting. The ends of the plastic tubes and red straws for the water indicators were obviously cut by hand and have rough and uneven edges, and none of the straws were measured to line up with the max fill line. Luckily the red straws were too long rather than too short, so I just trimmed to size and for a neater appearance. All parts did fit together. A couple of small paint/coating imperfections on the glossy white surface. No pon included, so I used a DIY pumice/gravel mix. A good buy for the function if you don't mind some small imperfections in the details.

Awesome product
My mom uses these planters in china which costs about $30 there, however, I don't want to wait and deal with the overseas shipping as it's heavy and big. Then I found this, which is exactly the same product (different brand though) with an affordable price. I love the high quality of it. The white one has high gloss surface and the insert is made of durable materials. My mom used to have a black thumb but never killed a plant ever since she started using these planters. I'm super excited and just repotted my fiddle leaf fig into it and hope it thrive!Wish it is a little cheaper though.. I want to buy a few more and the price stacks up too high >_<

Received wrong color and missing a part
I purchased this pot for three reasons. First, as a large water reservoir to keep my plant watered over the X-mas holidays while I'm away. Secondly, I wanted a visual reference so that I knew when I needed to add water. Third, I wanted a nice gray finish to match the decor of my office. As you can see from the picture, I received a nice, blinding white planter which stands out wonderfully against my gray office. Unfortunately for me, I actually ordered this in Matte Granite color to blend in a bit more. Also, the little plastic ball which is supposed to provide flotation to allow you to see how much water is remaining in the pot (red circle on instruction sheet) was missing from my parts bag. So now I won't know what the remaining water level is at. That's two strikes against it. I can only hope that it actually holds water and doesn't leak, otherwise this purchase will have been a complete fail on all accounts. Not happy.

Nice, but $60 nice?
I have 4, two inside and two outside. They work pretty well except some came with an overflow valve and some didn't. Just had one finally crack in half after 2 years outside. Clearly can't replace it. Oh well.

Missing Parts - Delayed Shipping
I ordered 3 of these planters. They look nice but all three failed to come with a complete set of parts. Although it says Prime and In Stock, these took weeks to get here. The first one was missing the floater that attaches to the red waterline stick. It did however come with two plastic hollow balls that were nowhere in the instructions. A few days later my next two planters arrived and had the floater pieces but had completely different instructions showing the clear plastic ball of which wasn’t included in either of these. I was able to take the two plastic balls from the first planter to complete my two other planters. So now I have one planter missing a floater and plastic ball.

Exactly what I was expecting
As you can see this was dying in the old pot over the winter but this is what I needed to bring it back! Well that and get it back outside! Soon 🤞🏻I hope!!
