Adhesive not as strong as you'd expect.
I installed this device in our bedroom. Primary intent is to alert us when we're asleep. Hoping for no earthquake that would trigger this (who wants a calamity, right?). Literally, this thing is loud as of recent testing. Minus one star for the adhesive which is not strong enough. I got a call from my wife when I was at work, I was told this earthquake alarm triggered and they heard it from the living room downstairs so they all headed out. Anticipating an earthquake would soon happen, nothing. The alarm is still triggered so my wife went upstairs to check, lo and behold, it is on the floor.I investigated why it has fallen off as soon as I got home, as I've mentioned the adhesive is not strong enough. I've done proper procedures before installing this. Cleaned the wall where it would be installed, made sure it is totally dry, leveled the device before finally attaching it. To remedy the issue, I bought an industrial strength 3M plastic velcro and replaced the ones currently on it. So far, it hasn't fallen off.

Works fine though mounting and servicing is bad.
Mounting this unit is comical, sticks on the wall with velcro and comes with tiny nails to help hold. Mounting it is a problem, I just put it on a shelf, gave up on wall mounting, it fell off.It makes loud noise while working and handling it, they recommend taping it while working with it.The sensor is a pendulum and V, very basic. Requires adjusting the sensitivity, the proximity of the pendulum and V sensor. Not clear if it senses P wave or S wave or both, manuals and pamplet do not say.Would I recommend it? Yes. Get this one or any other seismic alarm, preferably P wave sensing for the heads up alarm.

Works as expected
It did detect an earthquake of level 3 perfectly with the highest precision adjustment!Would've been great if we could change levels of detection by steps tho, or at least some indication or bar would've been great, but still an amazing device, that works.

Happy to have some seconds to react
I bought it last november. I was courius about how it works under a real quake. Yesterday and today in Bogotá we experiencied 3 earthquakes ( 6.2, 5.7, and 4.8 ) from a relatively close area near Bogotá. It worked as I expected. It gave us the alert seconds before some private alarms started to make noise when the earthquake happened. Not sure how much time it anticipated the S wave coz of the panic. Still im happy to have some precious seconds to react.

Does what its supposed to do but at a high price
Does what it is supposed to do.But it doesn't reflect it's price. Doesn't even comes with the battery. $50 plus for a buzzer, a pendulum and a cheap plastic case sounds expensive.
