Reviews: โPaulโs book has all the elements necessary to assess your practice as well as your life and make it exceptional. Most books written for dentists, are designed to provide some cheerleading, give you a few helpful nuggets to improve you practice, and then motivate you to sign up with their consulting services. This book, however, breaks down piece-by-piece every component of a highly functioning practice and provides the tools and insight to take your practice the highest level possible. You get ALL the nuggets needed to redesign your practice and in-effect create the life you desire. Thank you Paul for providing this book at a critical time when many dentists are scrambling to find the answers to an ever-changing field.โ โ Dr. Lance Pietropola โDr. Paulโs Book โDental Practice Heroโ is an easy to digest, real world entertaining look at the way all of us private practitioners should be practicing. He provides humor insight and a lot of great and easy to understand examples of what he is trying to get across to the reader. He organizes the book into subcategories that make it simple to tackle the issues we face in our dental offices one problem at a time. What I really enjoyed was how he uses a different perspective on how to view things we see as road blocks and turns them into manageable โbumps in the road". A great read. Definitely recommend. Picked up a lot of great information that I should have implemented when I started working in private practice years ago.โ - Dr. David Sanders โDental Hero, is a must read for any entrepreneur. A truly inspiring and enjoyable piece of literature. Dr Etchisonโs philosophies are now at the core of how we practice/manage our business.โ โ Dr. Sunil Kurup โGreat Guide for modern methods combined with compassionate dentistry. Comprehensive methods to differentiate your dental practice and increase you income! I have implemented the methods in the book and it has helped my office grow past 1.5M in a 1 doc practice with room to grow.โ โ Dr. Joe Lee Review: Excellent book for building and perfecting your practice - As a 28-year practice owner, it is rare that I find a practice management book that I find truly useful. This is one of those fair finds. Written in a conversation style, Paul provided a look into his incredibly successful practice, giving the reader excellent information that can be implemented easily into any practice. This is not fluff or trite content. It is filled with common sense and unique ideas that will provide the reader with the tools to take a practice to the next level, whether it is a start up or a more seasoned and established one. I purchased both the written text and the audio book. Get both, since much of the info he gives you is easily implemented when seen visually. Iโve let my team listen as a group to several parts of the audio book then weโve taken the pdf associated with the audio version and customized it for our needs. Support our fellow dentistโs work here and also reap the benefits of this information. A+ Review: A gift to the dental world - Thank you Paul for sharing your roadmap to excellence. This is the best dental book I have read to date. The book is inspiring on a professional and personal level. It was full of educational and actionable guidelines/language that cohesively leads the reader through how to achieve greatness within the practice and for the patient experience. Sometimes you read a book and there is no call to action. Others are full of ideas with few plans. This was not the case. In fact, this book is so full of utility, it serves as a constant reminder in your daily practice of where and how you can be better, and have a better life. The book is an excellent synthesis of your podcast and presents a concrete plan for how to put it all together! Thanks again, Jason R. Crescenzo, D.D.S., P.C.

Excellent book to pick at any point in your career. Dr. Etchison shares precious recommendations for better personal and professional life. It is not just a book; it is a guide. Dr. Etchison also has a fantastic podcast that comes out twice a week and makes my commute feels short. Thank you!

Great Way of Framing Your Focus
I was really drawn to the way Dr. Etchison framed his book. It starts by highlighting the way that dentistry has traditionally been done, and challenges you to think of the ways that you can set yourself apart throughout each step in the patient experience. It is full of great calls to action and good ideas about how to work with your staff to make them feel part of the team. I would also highly recommend Dr. Etchison's podcast, which does a good job of looking at the bigger picture and addressing the areas of dentistry that are often overlooked, like emotional intelligence, prioritizing your focus, finding your purpose, etc.

Very clear and easy to read.
I really enjoyed this book. I was flying for 2 hours and I couldnโt stop reading this book. The message from the author is so clear and authentic. I like to a lot of business and self improvement books but this one is one of my favorites. I already have 2 or 3 take action tips to improve my team and practice productivity. Great read!!!! I highly recommended this book.

The Wisdom of Systems
Dr. Etchison didn't perfect his tone, but his emphasis on dental systems stimulated thought and inspired me. The pictures and diagrams convey his points and communicate his ideas, so your business can excel!

Great book for future owners!
I'm 5 years out from dental school in the pre-ownership phase and I stumbled across this book while listening to a podcast last year. I found it to be very informative and had great pearls that I will definitely use in the future when I hopefully have my own practice. I've read several dental books and I will probably say this was my favorite one to read. My only thing is that I wished Dr Paul kept the original title, 'Why do you stink when it's so stinking easy!' This is a great read for future or current owners!

Finally, a common sense approach to building a successful dental practice!
Dr. Etchison presents a no-nonsense, common sense approach to leadership and practice management that I could identify with. He has essentially written a blueprint for how to build and maintain a successful dental practice despite all of the pressures that private practice owners face from staff issues, declining insurance reimbursements and competition from corporate practices. If you read this book and apply the concepts you will build the practice that you and your patients deserve to have. I highly recommend this book.

Fantastic book. A must read for anyone who owns or is considering owning a dental practice.
This is by far one of the best dental practice books I have read and listened to on audible (yes I own both versions). I wish that I would have had this book and its guidance years ago when I was thrown into ownership suddenly after only two years of practice. Regardless of your stage in your career, this book gives great insight into how you can take yourself and your team to the next level. I highly recommend this book.
