Awesome book!
This book has helped sooo much with my 3 yr old. She had started to compare herself to other kids, wanting to be JUST like others and had begun to buy into the gender stereotypes that apparently are easily picked up once kids start in schools. This book features a boy and girl who both cross those gender stereotypes (the boy helping with the dolls..etc) and she picked up on it immediately and loved it. She loves this book and so do I.

Perfect for the Family Bookshelf
'No Difference Between Us' is by Jayneen Sanders from Some Secrets Should Never Be Kept and is primarily about gender equality. Fraternal twin siblings, Jess and Ben, talk about the little ways in which they are different - Jess likes to climb trees but Ben likes to play in the sandpit - as well as all the many ways in which they are alike - Jess likes to play soccer and Ben likes to play soccer. It also shows that two people can like the same thing but in different ways - Jess likes to read comics whilst Ben likes to read adventure stories. The overall message is that it's okay to be different and to like different things and that we all get to choose what we like and that we should respect other peoples choices to like the same and/or different things and that other people should respect our choices as well. The language is conversational, switching between Jess and Ben, and every second page asks a question for the child/ren to answer. As with all of Jayneen Sanders' books, there is a section at the back of the book with suggested discussion topics and conversations you could have with your child whilst and/or after reading the book.My son really enjoyed the colourful art work and had a lot of fun answering the questions posed by the book. The language and amount of text was perfectly suited to him.I would recommend this book for children 2.5 - 6 years old.

It's never too early to start talking with kids about equality and respect for everyone. 'No Difference Between Us' is a lovely way to start those conversations. Jayneen Sanders always gets it right. Make sure you find and read her other children's books too.

What planet are we on?!
Keyword here: CHILDREN. Let children be children. This is ridiculous. Pushing agenda on little kids on a subject that is a FALLACY! Disturbing on so many levels. Wish I could give this negative stars, but alas it's not possible.Pathetic!
