They work reliably
This is the first time I have ever used these, I only heard about these maybe 4 weeks ago. I have to tell you that I had seeds growing in about 90 hours time. I am soooooo impressed with this product, I will be recommending these to anyone I know who wants to start seeds indoors. This is an amazing product. I have heard/seen a few critical reviews that the mesh material that contains all of the peat together is non-biodegradeable, but there has got to be some way to deal with the material once the peat and the new seedling is extracted. Yes, I agree that the polymer material shouldn't just be thrown out only to end up on Midway Island north of Hawaii for the Albatross population to devour and die from. Regardless, there must be a great way to upcycle the mesh material after transplanting the young seedling into a 4 or 5 inch pot.Would I recommend these Peat Pellets to buyers that are on the fence? Absolutely. I am a one-time buyer and I am already convinced of the efficacy of this product. Go with it. Besides, what does it cost $13 after tax? That's about one pack of cigarettes and 4 additional if you live in Chicago. Or, 3 packs of High-Fructose Corn Syrup 12-pack soft drinks. Or, mabye 64 bananas from the produce department.Buy 'em.

Easy to use and with a great success rate
I'm fairly new to gardening (two years now) and have tried many of the products advertised for folks like me who prefer to grow their plants from seeds. This product is "by far" the easiest and most successful product I've purchased. You just lay the pellets on a tray or put them into small pots, stick the seeds in the pellets, water and watch them grow. The best part of this process is when you are ready to transplant, you only have to prepare the soil location area and stick the pellet into the ground. You can't get any easier than that! I've tried the plantable peat pots and several other seed growing products and have seen a much better success rate with these pellets. The plantable peat pots seem to stunt the growth of a young plant somewhat, until the roots are strong enough to actually grow through it. Not a problem with the pellets. The pellets give the young plant a very stable base in which to start the root growing process so you don't have to worry about the plant uprooting when you water them like it does with seed starting soil. And the roots don't have to grow through anything except the prepared soil below. The plants I've grown in these pellets seem to grow twice as fast as the plants in the peat pots. Overall I'm impressed with this product and will purchase more in the spring for my new projects.

Perfect seed starters
This is exactly what I needed. This was perfect to get my seeds started. All the pods are in great shape. Easy to use and didn’t fall apart. Great value for the price 🥰

Worked as advertised
The pellets arrived on time as predicted. I had a total of 50 pellets and only one was broken. All you have to do is place them in water and they swell up within 3 mins. I would recommend that you place them in warm water it seems to speed up the process. They swell up to about 2 inches high and 1.75 inches wide. They are malleable when wet, meaning they can be placed within a small starter pots with some manipulation. They also come with instructions on how to use them which can be handy if you don't remember the reviews. As far as growth I can't comment, because I just planted seeds today. So far my impression is that these are well made and will work well.

Doesn’t absorb water well but good growing material
Good for getting plants started but hard to get started with them. The pellets don’t absorb water well so the soil doesn’t expand and get soft easily which mean it takes work to break them up before you can plant seeds

Easy to use and works well.
Just received mine today. For those that may be having issues here is my recommendation. Get a bowl and a measuring cup or just a cup. Then get your water hot (Straight from the tap will be good). Put the pellets in the bowl and pour your water in the bowl. Don't forget to put a little on the top. Do that by submerging the pellet or carefully pour it on the top. The trouble with pouring it on the top is you will start to lose the dirt if you do it too long. After it is completely softened, then place your seed in there. Doing it before the water runs the risk of losing the seed and if you're doing multiples at once, you may not know which one lost its seed. Hopefully this helps those out that may be having trouble with them. Looking forward to planting Mum's in our yard! Also using it for some extra seeds from a Bonsai Kit that I purchased. Happy planting all! :)

Very cool product.
I am new to gardening in all ways. With that said and not knowing if even a single seed will sprout, I want to say that these plugs really make things easy. I soaked several in some water overnight and put 3-4 seeds in each one in the morning. They roughly tripled in height and got slightly bigger in diameter. The bottom stays sealed with a super fine screen material. I am guessing this material will dissolve in a very short time but I cannot confirm it. The top exposes a nice opening to easily place the seeds in. I loved that using these I could do most of the work inside the air conditioning to get these seeds ready to put in the garden. I carried a tray outside with all my seeds already tucked in the moist comfort of these plugs. I made egg sized holes in the garden spaced as recommended for my seed types and dropped them in and covered with less than 1/4" of soil. Wish me luck on having things grow. Hope this review helps.
