Shiva argues that the ecological and social disorder in Punjab is rooted within capitalist distribution of natural resources (which preceded and has sustained the green revolution). A seminal text on Punjab; I wondered why this hasn’t been read more broadly. Although historically accurate - sometimes reads like a polemic. A more balanced view on the (few) positives and many negatives of the green revolution may have made this book more successful.
