Rostra 250-1870-TOY Seat Heater for Toyota Vehicles with Custom Control Switch

I didn't want to spend the $2800 to get the package with heated seats. I installed these myself and am happy with the product. The switch has five levels of heat. I rarely keep it above three because four and five are too hot! During installation the product must be cut to go around seat listings. The cut ends are then sealed with tape to prevent electrical shorts. There was not enough tape in the package to cover all of the seams. That's why I gave it four instead of five stars. I used some kinesiotape when I ran out. One more thing, don't be concerned when you see lumbar support on the box. It's a generic box for both products.

I installed this in a 2013 Toyota Tacoma. Switched fit perfectly in the dash and all wiring worked well. The only modification was the need to shorten the power line.

I installed this kit on the driver's and passenger's seat of my 2022 Toyota 4 Runner. The kits were complete and the switches looked exactly like an OEM Toyota switch, which was a plus. However, the lighting on one of the switches wasn't working. I swapped modules to isolate the problem to the switch and confirmed the switch lighting was faulty. I then contacted Rostra through Amazon support link and requested a replacement switch be sent to me, to which they asked for my shipping address. I thought all was well. Then they replied a couple of days later stating that I would need to return the switch to them for testing before they would send me a replacement. It's winter....the switch is functional except the lighting. I don't want to rip out a switch and not have seat heating while Rostra spends days to weeks testing my switch to verify that I'm not lying. What would I use a spare switch for anyway? Decoration? I spent about $250 on these kits and to get a hassle over a simple defective switch replacement was disappointing.

Great heaters initially, but both rotary switches failed in a few months and manufacturer would not replace under warranty without going through an authorized dealer.
