A real treat to the senses.
This is a unique and sultry perfume, a rarity in today's market. It is a little hard to come by and from what I've heard, it has been discontinued. The presentation is very chic and the product itself becomes bewitching with my body chemistry. I shall have to hunt down a full size of the EDP! About the perfume: Very RARELY is patchouli done right and Galliano manages to make it a benefit with a balanced amount of the RIGHT florals. They keep the patchouli within a pleasurable boundary that allows it to come into play to create a fragrance which is exotic, sensual, and arcane but without being overbearing or cloying..The opening notes are definitely aldehydic, then it reveals a heart of warm ambery floral notes which rouse the patchouli and indulges it like the nymphs to the satyr. But, just when you think it may be a little too indulgent and perhaps a little profane, notes of incense begin to rise near the drydown to provide a rich, soothing balsamic note that becomes something of a cathartic powder which remains on the skin to keep you soothed yet stimulated.The EDT has a prominent rose note that was too light yet omnipresent for my liking. The sillage is almost non-existent on me...someone would have to literally put their nose ON me to appreciate. The longevity is less than an hour. In sum: A powdery vintage rose.EDP: The real star of the pair. Complex, dark and enigmatic. Sillage is buildable from 1 spray being equal to 2 feet of sillage. Longevity after drydown is still going 4 hours strong on me. In sum: An obscure ritual located in a garden surrounded by incense, violets, roses, peonies, iris and a whisper of musk.About the seller: The seller is trustworthy and provided me with an authentic fragrance in pristine condition. My item was also shipped next day and got to me promptly so I am most pleased.10/10 overall.
