CLASS 2 Transformer 40VA, 120V, 1x16.5V Please remember output is AC and not regulated. Voltage may read slightly high with no load but will be within the 16.5V spec when a device is drawing current. If you short the device and draw excess current you will likely destroy the unit.

Powers a Ring Doorbell pro just fine with mechanical chime
So far so good. Using this to power a Ring Video Doorbell Pro. Works great! Mechanical chime works with fine with this. It was either this or the Nutone C907 16V 30va but this was a few dollars cheaper at the time and this had 40va vs the 30va of the C907.I measured output voltage at approximately 20v (19.98-20.02). I was thinking about getting the 24V 40va version (BE2G) but I was worried the measured voltage output would be too high (I’m not sure how tolerant the Ring Pro is to voltage over 24v). According to the spec sheet, this BE2F has 2.42A and the BE2G has 1.67AUnit is beefy compared to the standard grade Nutone 905k 16V 10vac it replaced that was measuring 18V. Although the old one was sufficient to power the ring pro according to the health page, Ring suggests 30va (especially when using with a mechanical chime) which is why I upgraded to this one for 40va. Doesn’t seem to hum or get warm. Longevity wise, time will tell and I’ll update if otherwise. Some things to note, it doesn’t have a ground wire on the primary side (120v) not sure how important or what that purpose was for on a low voltage AC transformer, and the secondary side (16.5v) is fused. I didn’t notice or see a UL sticker or marking on the unit (but I’ve seen stock photos showing the UL sticker). I’ve seen where these used to be made in Canada, however the two I received were made in China.

Class 2 but...
This looks like a well-built transformer. As other reviewers have noted, it is made in China not Canada. It is a Class 2 transformer because the output is current limited as is required by that designation. However, it is not limited by impedance. The attached picture shows the warning notice that the secondary is fused, meaning that if you short circuit the terminals you will kill the transformer. While not a deal breaker for me, I wish that I had known this before purchasing.

Worked well
I added two video doorbells and my current transformer was not able to handle them. This transformer works perfectly.

Works great
Works fine, good heavy duty construction, no problem driving two Nutone chimes at the same time (previous 16VA transformer did not). Mounts through standard knock out, and comes with bracket with knockout and mounting holes in case you aren't using it with a box with knockouts.Still working great 3 years later...

Good transformer
This will power a Honeywell VISTA 128BP and an IGSMV4G communicator with no issues.
