Polycarbonate Sheet 12 x 18 x 1/16" Clear Plastic, Plexiglass Replacement

I recently crafted a diy fish tank lid using this sheet, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The sheet is thick enough to feel sturdy, giving me reassurance my betta is safe and secure in his tank. At the same time. It’s thin enough to be cut with snips, making it easy to customize to fit your tanks needs. My tank has odd measurements compared to average 10 gallons tanks so I couldn’t find a lid that would perfectly fit my tank. It was easy to round the corners to allow space for cords to go through as well. I love that this lid offers the best of both worlds. It ensures that my betta stays safe, preventing any accidental jumps, yet doesn’t sacrifice any style. I wanted to keep the seamless style since I have a rimless tank. Being clear and thin, it doesn’t obstruct any views and allows me to do that. To add on some convenience, I also ordered some clear self-adhesive hinges to create an opening for feeding. This lid has proven to be a practical and stylish addition to my aquarium setup, and I highly recommend it to fellow fish keeps. It’s a cost-effective and customizable solution for keeping your aquatic friends safe and your tank looking great!

I've used these for making custom aquarium lids on my previous 5.5g tanks and even my current 22g long rimless tank (shown in photo) - which needed exactly 2 sheets to cover all 36" long and the width of 12" was perfect too. The only thing I needed to do was to make some cutouts for air line tubing, HoB filter, power cord, above-water plants, etc. I used some utility tin snips to make the necessary cutouts rather easily. There's no bending/warping from moisture, and the thickness of this sheet is perfect for a lid without being too thick or too thin. I don't have to worry about it shattering like glass would either if I were to accidentally drop a lid panel. It is very lightweight yet sturdy. Highly recommend :)

A few years ago I purchased a head and face protection to use when I am cutting trees using my chainsaw. This was a hard hat with a mesh visor and ear protection. Recently, I was cutting a tree that had poison ivy climbing along it's side, some oils from the poison ivy went through the mesh visor and sprayed my face. Later I had to suffer the consequences. So I decided to buy a polycarbonate screen to replace the mesh visor as protection for similar situations. Measuring the mesh visor it was 16"x9" so I ordered the 18"x12" polycarbonate sheet. After trying to use my hot air gun to firm the sheet round the face, I found that the polycarbonate does not form or bend even after heating it for a long time. I was lucky that mesh visor was fixed to a metal frame that is attached to the hard hat. I removed the mesh visor and drilled a set of holes in the polycarbonate sheet to fit that metal frame. Then fixed the polycarbonate visor to the frame. At the top it is formed along the half round frame and flat at the bottom. I had to cut the edges round the bottom so i can turn my head around unimpeded. My findings: It is easy to cut using metal cutting scissors that A/C construction use for ducts. This was a good and satisfying DIY project that saved me money and I have two visors that I can use with my hard hat. I would recommend this to anyone.

It was the right thickness for bending and shaping. Thin enough to get a 90 degree bend with the assistance of a heat gun, but thick enough to keep it's shape after cooling. It worked great as a busbar cover for added safety.

It was exactly what I was hoping for, it replaced the glass in the collage picture frame that the cats knocked over and broke. they can't do that with this!!!

I keep my planner/calendar on the snack bar in my kitchen. My old calendar was covered with coffee stains and grease spots so I'm using a polycarbonate sheet to help keep this one clean. Now, if we set a cup of coffee on it, or if it's splattered with drops of bacon grease, the calendar is protected. I lift it up to write in appointments.

Great for an aquarium tank. This is 5 gallons so I needed to cut it to size, which was a little difficult but still was able to do.

The product came as described. Real clear polycarbonate. The seller was responsive to meet my needs.
