Your Marantz AV receiver is the amplifier. A fairly high end one I might add. I would think someone who spends $1500+ on an AV Receiver should know what they have and what its capabilities are. If you are unsure/unaware, I would recommend hiring a professional to assist you with your home theater setup. When spending that kind of money you don't want to be second guessing.

You're 50 watt will power it fine, unless of course you push your amp past clipping/distortion. Any amp will damage any speaker if pushed too hard, beyond it's cabilities. 120 watts is the max continuous clean power this speaker can handle.
