I measured 24mm on my old watch strap, so i bought the 24mm version but that was way bigger than the one i measured. i measured correctly what gives?

You need to measure lug width on the watch. Not the width of the strap. Watch straps can change width at different points along the strap.

Is the alligator leather band susceptible to water over time or not at all???

It's leather. Not real alligator. So yes. Leather will deteriorate over time in water.

Has anyone purchased this in smoke grey? in one photo it looks like a med. grey, in others it looks like light greyish blue. can anyone confirm color?
