Compact, sturdy, and surprisingly versatile.
The MYTEC 2.5" Clamp-On Vise is a fantastic little tool for light-duty work. I use it on my workbench for small repairs, crafting, and electronics—it clamps securely and holds materials steady without slipping. The cast iron build feels solid, and the jaws align well for precise gripping. What really impressed me is how easy it is to reposition thanks to the clamp-on design, making it perfect for portable setups or limited workspace. For its size, it delivers excellent control and reliability. A great value for hobbyists and DIYers who need dependable grip in a compact form.

Get ready to be surprised!
This little guy may look small but in use is huge. It's complete quality and you will notice it immediately when you take it out and hold it in your hands. All of the parts are made of exceptional in fit and function. I've used this on so many projects its become a permanent fixture on my garage work bench. I cannot say enough about its strength and flexibility and find myself using my large bench vise less.

Very well made. Heavy. Sturdy.
The quality of this vise is excellent but it turned out to be larger than what I needed for my purpose. I needed to hold a yarn spinning item to a table top so something much lighter was needed. This is absolutely perfect for anyone's work bench though because of its quality and weight. It just was a bit more than what I needed to I returned it. Good item though.

Gets the job done and well
I like that you can clamp to a table without needing to drill holes. Built very sturdy and is great for medium to light duty jobs. More than adequate. Well built and nicely priced. Also rotates 270 degrees!

The 3.3" vise has more features.
I purchased the 3.3" Black vise for my work table. The 3.3" vise comes with an additional set of jaws that are tapped for a set of pins that will hold irregular shaped work. Those jaws will attach to the vise jaws with magnets that are built in, or they can replace the original jaws, that are held on with screws. I opted to replace the original jaws, as that gave me an extra 1/2" of opening depth. There are a set of plastic covers that can cover the metal jaws to protect your work. The 3.3" vise only opens 2.375"....the 3.3", refers to the width of the jaws. This vise has a "quick release", button that makes adjusting the jaws very easy without a lot of handle spinning. This particular model comes with a plastic pad for the clamp on the bottom of the vise, but nothing for the table top side. I used some stick on felt pads to protect my table top. The vise also includes thru-bolts, if you want to drill into your bench and fasten it that way. It's a nice small vise, with useful features: It clamps to the table, It swivels, It has plastic jaw covers, It has jaw pins to hold irregular shaped pieces. I would say a good value for the cost.

Strong sulfur smell. Doesn't come with rubber cover for table surface.
Let me start with a summary. Pros: - Quick release button allows you to slide the clamp to position. This was the main reason I picked this since not all vises in this class have this. - Can be clamped to a surface or bolted down. - Comes with added clamp accessories that other vises do not come with and at this pricepoint. Cons: - Missing upper surface rubber protector. - Brand new strong sulfur and oil smell due to manufacturing process. - Aesthetically ugly finish (my subjective opinion) - Bottom clamp rubber protector keeps coming off - Screws attaching clamp can easily be stripped due to weak alloy. So, assemble with care. Neutral: - Cartoon character white gloves. My wordy review: I don't understand why this vise clamp comes with a bottom rubber cover to protect the underside of the table but is missing a corresponding upper rubber cover to protect the top surface, which is the most visible part of a table. If you would actually use this vise for any work, there is a chance of scratching or markings or denting the top of whatever furniture is clamped on to unless you place a rag or mat between the part that contacts the vise. Again, I find this absurd that the bottom rubber is provided but nothing for the top. Also the rubber to protect the clamp is warped and keeps falling off. If I was to keep this thing then gluing it in place may be necessary. After opening the jaws, there was a very strong stench of sulfur and oil. I don't know whether this is due to the manufacturing process but it cannot be used indoors in a home setting right out of the box as it was originally intended. Airing out a bench vise was not in my to do list. The paint finish is not black as it appears on certain computer monitors. It's like a dark green speckly mud textured pattern which I find unappealing. This is going to be returned for the reasons stated above. I would rather get a mini vise that I am happy with rather that one to put up with. I may end up going with a different kind of vise altogether since all the table clamp-on ones on Amazon do not have 4 inch or wider jaw sizes for some reason. They only go up to 3.3" at most. I needed a 4 inch vise and wanted to clamp it onto a table for convenience. Drill press vises can be wider and just lay on top of a surface. Other non-clamping vises get even bigger. So, my original idea of having a mini vise for light work that can easily be connected to a furniture table is out the window. They don't seem to exist or have bad reviews or stuck to 3.3" width jaws (like this one) or smaller. Getting a traditional heavy duty one will have more value in that it can do a wider spectrum of tasks than a smaller one even though I don't be able to clamp it to an indoor kitchen table like I originally hoped. I give this three stars because it is functional and does what it is supposed to do. But due to the cons states of why I am returning it, I deducted two stars. I wasn't happy with its flaws.

Great small Vise
Purchased this vise to have something to slip on to my portable workbench when needed. I was taking on a project to re-grip my golf clubs, and that was the final straw to make this purchase, as I'd had other times where it would've been helpful to have a small vise around. This worked great to hold my clubs (with the use of a shaft clamp so I didn't damage them) while I cut and pulled and pushed to get old grips off and new ones on. Exactly what I needed, and it is small enough for me to take off of my portable workbench and put away, and simple enough to pull out and mount. It was solid the whole way. The only nitpicks were that the little protective sleeves that were provided to sit on the vise arms didn't fit too solidly/neatly.. they were prone to slide off more than I would've wanted, but it was not a huge deal.. also the locking mechanism that locked the vise from rotating wasn't always super secure, but I had to pull/push pretty hard to cause it to rotate un-necessarily. Overall very very happy with this purchase. I got through my club re-gripping thanks to this, and I know I will have plenty of future use for it.

Despite the negative reviews, I have been pleasantly surprised with this little desk vice. Being a more or less unknown brand from China, you never can be sure what you're going to get. Or when for that matter. So after a fair amount of thought, I decided to risk it and ordered the 2.5 inch vice. The first thing to note about this vice is that is a light duty vice. A simple look at it clearly shows that it is in no way suitable as a workshop vice for serious work like sawing wood or anything of that nature. No, this is best suited for lighter crafting type work. It holds light objects in place while you work on them. Some light filing or cutting for modelling or similar activities. The included rubber jaw covers indicate that this is what the manufacturer intends also. Out the box you are immediately are presented with not only the vice, but the included rubber accessories. These take the form of one pair of soft jaw covers and rubber covers for the clamp. I recommend installing all of there straight away before they are lost. There is no point in waiting until you think you need them, because you will, definitely. They are easily removed again if necessary. The next job is to inspect the various metal edges. I found a few small burrs or sharpish edges. A few strokes with a small file took care of those easily enough. The jaws meet nicely. Not perfectly, but we expected that, right? It is close enough unless you are trying to clamp tin foil for some strange reason. They are also removable, which is nice. The slide mechanism works well although it came almost entirely dry and needed lubrication as does the screw. The main screw is tensioned by a spring and washer setup which does make it feel and sound a bit grindy. There is no retention on the slide so it will come off if you keep open the jaws too far. This is nice for maintenance, but could be a problem if you are working and not paying attention. The rotating section likewise needed lubricating and it isn't as smooth as it could be. But it works just fine. Finally I turned my attention to the small anvil. This is probably where it could use the most work if you want to take the time. The construction of the whole body is cast steal and in anvil seemed like wasn't quite ground down properly after casting. It's not bad by any means. But it's not entirely flat either. There was a little cupping in the surface that seems to have been caused by whatever first stage grinding method that was used. The effect is pretty clearly visible and needs some work sanding down to reach proper flatness. But it's not bad as is really. For the price it is pretty good and there is room for touching up these things yourself. Which I would rather be able to do than be stuck with a product that can't be tweaked to how I want it. Being a bare steal surface, the anvil and a few other parts must be kept oiled to prevent rust. In conclusion, I like this little vice quite a lot. I am glad that I took the chance on it. But like all vices, it is designed to do a certain level of work. I am confident that it will perform well as long as it is not abused and overworked. The one thing that failed any sort of quality check was the included gloves. They were too small for an adult and would probably have disintegrated in water. But in fairness we're buying the vice, not the gloves.
