Did anyone take this to help lower cholesterol????  Did it work?

Modified Citrus Pectin was recommended by my primary care physician in 2006 to attempt to combat my high cholesterol & especially the mix of my cholesterol. I’ve used this brand for other supplements before, so I trust them. Along with lots of other folks these days, took some COVID financial hits and had to make challenging decisions - some of my supplements HAD to take a backseat to food. But, trying to get started again, because they make a difference fir me. And MCP is one of my key ones on the top of the list.

I’ve religiously taken it since then. And my HDL is in the 50’s now whereas previously I couldn’t get it above 20 (and then only rarely)! Plus my LDL & VLDL, triglycerides are wonderfully low. Overall well below 200 total and super low risk of heart disease per the labs. In case you didn’t know having a higher HDL is better than having the others at a higher level.

I’d been eating fairly well even then, and still do now. Eat less fast food, but still eat butter and eggs - usually Kerry Gold butter and Egglands Best Eggs - and lean beef, ham and a TON of poultry... but still eating a lot of the  same way.

My family has a history of High Cholesterol Issues and my father had a quadruple bypass several decades after quitting smoking. But, my father was ALSO allergic/negative muscle reaction to Statins, so though I’d started using some after he did, I quickly realized I needed to find something else.

Question 2

If it can't be absorbed in the digestive tract, how is it absorbed?

Read it again. STANDARD pectin can not be absorbed in the digestive tract. Hence the MODIFIED part. The modification changes the molecular structure so it CAN be absorbed in the digestive tract.

Question 3

If the bottle says 750 mg, does that mean 750 for each pill or for the suggested serving size of 4 pills?

It is 750 mg each pill. I only take one a day because of the recommendation of a very learned friend. He says the body only requires 600 mg a day according to the medical journal he gets-I trust him. I always recommend for everyone to do their own research and do what's comfortable for them. I hope this has been helpful for you.

Same question I have.  Why would it contain lead if it is supposed to help get rid of heavy metals.
