Amazing for the price
Smooth drag and nice sound. Performs just like you want a reel to. Also has absolutely no reverse at all and a switch to reverse if you need to.

Great reel
Perfect reel just like the others I bought before, but the first delivery was a set of silicone toilet bowl cleaner? WTF? Received the correct order on the second delivery, great reel.

Low budget reel with big performance
Took this little reel fishing today. I have it attached to a light 6’ rod. I was using a Rapala shallow diving crank bait. I caught several smaller sized bass and one fat bluegill. I got caught up on weeds a few times and had to pull the bait through and at no time did the drag system feel weak. The retrieve was very smooth. This reel was defiantly worth the money!!

Good reel for a good price
I have been using this reel for crappie fishing. Haven't had any issues at all with the performance. It's lightweight and seems to be made of quality material so it should last a long time. Very smooth. Would buy again.

Nice reel!
I'm a beginner and this is the second reel I've ever purchased. I've strapped the 400 on my ugly stik and I'm impressed with it. It's smooth and casts well.

Best value fishing reel!
I’ve used this reel for a week now and it’s smooth and works great for catching crappie with the 1000 size reel. For the price I’m blown away with how well it works.

Almost perfect….
The reel feels great. The operation is smooth, bearings feel fresh and properly greased. Based on others reviews, I took it apart and added anti-corrosive oil that works to keep all my other reels rust free, so here’s hoping. The drag feels smooth, seems to get really light and properly tight, good range. The reel feels great and ‘would totally recommend’. Then there’s that other observation of the line lay. First, an extra spool shim is provided but a shim needs to be taken off as the line lays thicker at the base. Only thing I could do is replace it with a thinner one I had laying around and now it is super close to being square. As long as it doesn’t pull loops off when casting that part should be addressed/remedied but I did happen to have spare shims, thankfully some thinner. And I can’t figure out why there are peeks and valleys on the spool when line is added. I’ve never seen that before. How can there be 3-4 humps in the line on the spool? I’ve never seen a spool not lay flat. Sure, it might bee too high or too low on the spool leading to bunching at the top and bottom of the spool but not bumps in the middle, I can’t figure that out. If the line layed flat and the correct thin shim was provided, solid and comfortable 5 stars with high recommendations, but, I guess call me particular or picky, those bumps in the line mean probable wind knots to me. Maybe the spool is a 0.001 of an inch too tall leading to a gap at the top of the spool and the line rolls into that gap causing those peeks and valleys happening as there seems to be a tiny gap built at the top of the spool, or maybe it’s the incorrect shim as I am still too high causing the line to fill a tiny bit more at the bottom, all I know is, it can’t be much of a fix and it’s near perfect, but…****UPDATE*****The sun and I got to try it out for the day. The line wrapped below the spool too frequently and it produced wind knots when casting. I’m sure the wind knots are from the inability to lay the line on the spool correctly due to not having the correct shims and the line just doesn’t lay flat. There are humps on the spool. Also the reel is tight, meaning it takes too much force to turn the handle. It’s buttery smooth, but a 500 size reel with 5lb mono, on an ultra light rod, reeling in a 1/8 weight from 20 feet shouldn’t feel like a reel with 1/2 weights reeling in a 3lb bass. It should feel light and easy. It has so much potential but I am a bit disappointed.
