Q: Will this work with my current tripod?

Q: Can this umbrella be used in a saltwater pool with a sundeck in the pool? The pole would be in the saltwater.

I don't have a salt water pool and I did not have my umbrella in salt water, but I'll give you my best guess... salt water is pretty corrosive and the pole is metal. Though it is coated in white paint I imagine it would eventually start to rust at the bottom. You may get one season or two seasons out of it? (maybe longer or shorter) before it becomes too rusted. I loved this umbrella, it worked great and had good coverage. I would say that if you don't mind replacing every year or two for $19.99, then I would recommend getting it. I doubt you would be able to find a well-made large umbrella that comes with a plastic pole. That's the only better alternative I can think of. Good luck! :-)
