This is liquid gold!
I've been refinishing furniture for years, I've used just about every kind of polyurethane i can get my hands on, bubbles, streaks, pooling, uneven sheen. I've literally dealt with it ALLLL! THIS THO.... first coat looked like a final. Second coat was just as flawless. No bubbles, no pooling, no uneven sheen! No flaws whatsoever! This is hands down the most user friendly polyurethane I've EVER had the pleasure of using! I even applied it with a foam brush which is a huge bubble causer, and not one single issue!!! If you're having issues with top coat, this is the product for you! I will NEVER use another polyurethane as long as I live and breathe!

Beautiful finish
I will never use anything else. This brings out the wood grain beautifully, is easy to apply and really does self level.

Closest to flat you will find, dries quick!
Works excellent once you figure it out. I ended up applying with a sock and foam brush, wiping until the finish started to dry, which happens quick. Requirea 3 coats for uniform results but it leaves an excellent finish. My can did start to film over after a week of use. Easy enough to break through, but I dont think it will keep for future projects.See pick for finish comparison.

Guaranteed beautiful look (even for inexperienced DIYers)
This product is incredible. We'll never buy a different polyurethane. We found a site where some pros said ZAR oil-based poly is an absolute necessity for any DIYers. I couldn't agree more. We used it on our new kitchen butcher block countertops. Our friend who is a woodworker didn't believe we had done it ourselves--the finish was extremely even, no bubbles, and a beautiful color. It darkened the wood slightly. I know my application technique wasn't the best, but even for a first-time DIYer, it was nearly impossible to mess up. (The self-leveling quality helped a lot.) We've had no issues at all with the finish--very durable over the past 6 months, and the counters get heavy use. I've attached some before-and-after photos to show the change in color and the amount of shine from different angles. The counters are cherry.

Did a staircase with 1 can
It went on easy and came out smooth and even. High Solids. Goes on clear unlike the Var brands that are milky. I had a stained staircase with defects, and it made it dull finish which I wanted. Made it look like I almost painted it brown but still looking good. The stair treads were amazingly smooth afterwards to run your hand over. Maybe I should have used satin but rarely do I ever have something come out so nice.

Truly flat and self leveling - and looks like an oil finish
I'm finishing a large oak table that I built. There are many imperfections I wish to hide. The "satin" finishes I tried were actually glossy. Even sanding and rubbing with steel wool was too shiny, showing all the low spots, patches, filled cracks, etc. I needed a matte finish to hide them.I sanded the earlier coats and sprayed Zar matte (thinned with standard paint thinner) over them in one thick coat. It's miraculous. Even without sanding it looks like a fine piece of woodworking! All the dozens of imperfections were evenly filled in, and the top looks nearly flawless, as if it were sanding with long blocks for many hours, rather than the truth -- me running my belt sander over it until I got bored.I can still feel small specks of dust that settled into the finish while drying. But testing showed I can sand it lightly with 220, then rub on some oil (I'm using Tru Oil), then it's done. I would enter this table in a woodworking contest, rather than my original plan, preventing people from looking too closely.

Perfect and matte finish
I loved this product. It was better than I expected. It gave me the matte finish I was looking for a bunch of pieces I stained myself. It is oil based, easy to apply using a good brush. I did two coats and sanded slightly between coats. One 32 fluid ounces can was enough to finish the small green buffet, the large sideboard, the mocha console table and two pairs of nightstands for 2 different bedrooms (2 coats for each piece). I am really happy with the results.
