Buyers take note:
I did not get the "game of the year edition" like shown on the listing, but you may be able to play the launch version offline (may be a small little plus for getting the standard edition), and if you update the game, you should get the game of the year content (it's a free update).Hopefully this helps!

Best Mom Ever
I purchased this video game for my son. I didn't think he would enjoy the game but he did. I think I got an update every time he played it. Yes, I am taking a bow! lol

It's hard and requires patience, but is excellent.
People griping about this game being "too hard" are often Dark Souls players who got used to spamming quick attack, hiding behind a shield, and/or boosting their stats until the game difficulty was trivialized. I am that same person, but this game pulled the rug out from under me, kicked me in the face, and said "you should have jumped when I pulled the rug and countered my kick. Try it again."This game is fast, fluid, beautiful, and fun. The feeling of getting good at the game is so satisfying. This is a game that does its best to prevent you from BSing it. You really have to fight the enemy, learn their attacks and how to respond to them, and use that to control the fight. By the end of the game, your response time will be so exact that playing it again feels like you're playing a joke game for babies. It's a stealth game with boss and miniboss encounters, and you have a number of tools at your disposal. It rewards strategy and patience, and gives you a fair amount of agency for how you want to play the game. Looking at youtube strategies for different bosses will show you there are a bunch of valid strategies for any situation. If you like a sincere challenge to your creativity and reflexes, this game is great.Really, my only gripe is that some of the hitboxes (how the game detects whether a hit connects) are a bit off. Aside from that, it's a very pretty game that is fun to play and satisfying to master. You'll go from thinking that a boss is an impossible mountain to climb to using every one of the enemy's attacks against them in a fluid back-and-forth dance of strikes, deflects, and counters. You'll go from being cut to ribbons in 10 seconds to defeating the enemy 3 times in a row without taking a hit. Death is literally a mechanic in the game. It expects you to die. That's not you losing, though - that's just how you learn.

Casual gamer
This game is the hardest game I own out of my gaming library. I am a casual gamer and I play many games from different genres whether it’s fighting, rpg, racing, etc. I have never played any of From Softwares previous titles such as the soul series or Blood Boerne. I was often worried about the difficulty so I knew to stay away. But knowing their history I knew I wanted to give Sekiro a chance. Know this, if you purchase this game, YOU HAVE TO COMMIT! I died numerous times in the beginning, honestly well over 50 times. i stayed Consistent and studied each enemy and boss upon each death and found myself a rhythm of when I should parry, dodge, jump, Mikiri and strike. Now having cleared the game once, I went on to New Game plus where you can start over and keep all items you had (aside from key items) and I am breezing through this game like as if it was a Mario game. The developers mean well with the difficulty and there is a huge curve for learning the games mechanics but once you learn and get better, you will enjoy your experience and be astonished with yourself once you progress and beat major bosses of the game. One of the best games I have ever played honestly!

Excellent Souls-Esc Experience
I will be up front and say that I have not completed the game yet, but I can tell you from my time with the game that this is one of the best souls-esc experiences in recent memory. The game must have taken a few notes from For Honor with the parry\slash dance you will be performing in your encounters. The game looks great(which is shocking for an at-launch From Software game), runs well and has excellent pacing. There will definitely be a learning curve since you have to see which items perform the tasks you remember from souls, bloodborne and even Nioh. The game has a few new tricks up its sleeve which I won't spoil, but I can tell you the way by which you level up and progress is slightly different than previous games. You gain xp from killing enemies from which you earn skill points. These skill points can be applied to increase your character abilities. Raising your attack power and posture(guard) takes these prayer beads, and you need 4 to appy an upgrade. It's weird at first, cause you don't have stamina. You might be surprised that you can basically swing away over and over, but that doesn't make the game easy. Some enemies pretty much require that you parry them to break their guards. The primary method of killing things is in the games 'Death Blows'. When you bring down someones posture stat, you will see them glowing with a red circle which indications your next swing will be fatal. Bosses require you to break down their posture(health) multiple times until they are defeated. Long story short, the game is tough and relentless at times, but if you have the patience and skill to complete souls games, you will think this game is amazing, like i do. I would definitely recommend purchasing it at full price. It's a well polished experience.

nowhere near difficult as people say....
If youre complaining about this game its simply because youre a button masher and impatient...this game is simply about timing and patience...a quick study of strikes from your opponent and you should have it down pretty quickly...THEY FOLLOW A PATTERN! youll still need to be patient after you figure out their moves but for the most part this game is pretty balanced between skill and timing! YOU WILL DIE, thats a given but if you just take your time youll go lengths before needing to be resurrected! ive only had this game for about 2 days and im hooked! i hope the next one is even "harder" DONT BELIEVE THE ONE STARS!
