Q: Is there a "use by date" for this product. was bought nearly a year ago

Thank you for your question. The germination percentage of Scotts PatchMaster Lawn Repair Mix Tall Fescue Mix can decline up to 5-7% every year after the test date on the package. The test date is located on the back of the bag, just below the lot number. The germination percentage we put on our labels is the minimum we, as a company, allow. When we initially package our grass seed, the germination is much higher and will decrease over time. Seed "Sell By" dates are regulated by each states' Department of Agriculture and also by the Federal Seed Act. The standard "Sell By" date is 9 months after the germination test date; however, some states' Department of Agriculture have set other time frames which range between 7 and 18 months after the test date. Grass seed may still be used after the "Sell By" date on the package, just keep in mind that the germination percentage will decrease every year after the Test Date on the label.

Q: I have Bermuda grass. Will this product be close to Bermuda grass?

This product is intended to be used on existing tall fescue lawns only.

Q: How many square ft does one bag cover

The package will tell you; read the back text (look for photo or description on Amazon or Scotts webpage). I'm not skilled at measuring sq ft--it is a combo mix, so I just sprinkled it out to generously cover the bare soil, not too deep & not too scarce.

Q: Does this contain phosphate?

as part of its broad range fertilizer combination, it does contain traces of phosphate
