Q: Are 'Trendi' switches/sockets suitable for Bathroom use?

As far as I’m aware there are technical standards that make it impossible to put electrical sockets in most bathrooms. Sockets are allowed in British bathrooms provided they are 3 meters or more away from the water sources (taps in the sink or bath as well as showers). Shaver-supply units are the single exception to the standard.

Q: dose this item fit into existing back boxes as i have just installed new boxes

Depends on what size boxes you have. The electrician who fitted mine had to cut a bigger hole in the wall for a few of tge switches as the current space was too small. He did say this is typical of houses built in the 80s so if you've just fitted new back boxes I will imagine that you have used the bigger ones? Hope this helps

You will need a back box with screws. The faceplate from the Trendi switch removes to fit back plate using screws. Faceplate snaps over the top
