Q: Can this bag be machine washed in a net?

I wouldn't machine wash at all. It has a foil type lining inside. I have wiped its surface with either lysol wipes or a rag with some laundry detergent. I have also washed the outside by hand in the sink and hung it upside down to dry.

Q: Does anyone know if a Yumbox will fit?

It will, but just barely. The Yumbox must be placed right in the center of the bag because the width tapers in at the sides. The yumbox will extend beyond the top zipper, but the lid is recessed with room in it to accommodate the rest of the Yumbox when it is zipped. You will not be able to fit a water bottle next the Yumbox because it will only fit directly in the center of the bag. The bottom pocket would accommodate a drink but it would have to be less than 2 inches thick, like a juice box, rather than a water bottle. Both pockets are flexible and have some give, so if you used a container smaller than a yumbox in the top pocket, then a water bottle would be able to fit in the bottom pocket.
