Don’t know. I use a cushion on the seat with no problem.

Q: Do they have seat extensions for this model? 16" depth, would prefer 18".

YES! I have 18". It is more comfortable. Problem is I live in old house and chair will not fit into rooms unless remove door. So have to use cane or walker for bath or bedroom where ya gotta have door. Don't just measure door opening. It's the door itself causes problem. Good luck.

Q: Carbon fiber frame. Is there anything on this wheelchair that can rust? Would get wet once in a while.

The one I bought had a carbon steel frame. You're not going to find a wheelchair with a carbon fiber frame for that price. And yes the steel has the potential to eventually rust if you don't take care of it. Just wipe it off and it will be fine, most of the steel is either chromed or painted.
