This book is so good. I finished it in 3 days. It is an absolutely compellingly written story, fascinating history, wild. I want to buy copies for every member of my family. And, for what it's worth, I'm a Christian, and I still found this history riveting. And so well written. Fire.

This is a wonderful book. Biblical times come to life. I could not put this down and I was so sad when I turned the last page. A lot of important information told in a captivating way. Doron Spielman is great writer.

Just finished the intro, preface, and first chapter. Very well written with a perfect balance of history telling (both ancient and modern) historical significance explanations, story of the discoveries and exploration, and political implications. Looking forward to the rest!

The Amazon man just brought my copy of this book but already I can answer the question that was driving me nuts because I couldn’t find the answer in any review, editorial, article, or even an interview with the author. —Yes, there are pictures! In color except for the very old ones. If there is anyone else out there as simple-minded as I am—now you know. I really was hoping for pictures.
