Magsafe doesn't work with Iphone 16 pro max!
Not as nice as I thought it would be. I have an Iphone 16 pro max. The magnet will not line up with this phone. You have to use the clamps.....which don't hold the phone perfectly.Build quality is nice, but not working with Magsafe is a deal breaker.

Bravo....bravo👏👏👏
This is a perfect example of a company listening to their consumers, and giving free range to their collaborators. This cage and its accessories checks all the boxes for an amazing phone rig.Big ups to Brandon Li for this one.P.S. I also added the Smallrig S60 wireless mics forthe extra sauce.

Not compatible with iPhone Pro Max
First issue: Despite what the SmallRig website says for this kit, an iPhone Pro Max will not work with this cage and its accessories. The phone is too large to properly seat to the MagSafe part of the cage without having the iPhone's lenses covered. You can manually slide the phone over so that the phone's lenses are not covered, but then you are using the cage's phone grip, not fully attached to the MagSafe part, which means you have to seat the phone each and every time you use the cage. SmallRig’s tech support admitted MagSafe will not work properly with the Pro Max and to manually slide the phone over instead. They really should disclose this.Second issue: If you go the route of using MagSafe and not the cage's lens cover, the connector cable is literally flush against the 4-part connector, preventing the phone from solidly sticking to the MagSafe part of the cage. The phone is simply too large, or this should be clearly labeled by Small Rig—which normally makes great products—as not compatible with Pro Max and similarly sized phones. The lenses are not flush with the cage’s lens cover. This is a basic, fatal flaw.Third issue: My Pro Max would not properly connect to two different SSD drives installed into the grip. A regular portable SSD SanDisk hard drive connects to my phone with no issues, but the M.2 drives inserted into the grip show a live connection (blue light), but the phone did not recognize either drive. This makes the SSD grip worthless, in my experience.Fourth issue: Upon connecting to the handle with the shutter button and zoom function via Bluetooth, only the shutter button worked after following all instructions in the included manual. The zoom toggle would not control the zoom function on the phone's camera app. Instead, it moved a small dot on the screen back and forth. This could be an issue with iOS 18.1, but it's clearly not been remedied by SmallRig. SmallRig tech support said they are testing this and will get back to me. Such testing should have been done prior to release. If you have a Pro Max, SmallRig’s other All-In-One Cage will work, but you will not get the same features as above; instead, you get a mic and light. That is workable for my purposes.I am returning the Brandon Li model and got this one instead: “SmallRig All-in-One Universal Quick Release Phone Video Rig Kit Pro, Phone Stabilizer Rig Kit with LED Light Microphone QR Tripod Dual Handles Power Bank Holder, for Vlogging & Live Streaming - 4704.” It works fine with minor adjustments, and I can use an external SSD instead.SmallRig’s soon-to-be released iPhone 16 Pro Max cage looks promising. I will also get that one for a lighter cage to carry around. Overall, this model has been a disappointing experience and appears to have been prematurely released and SmallRig should do the right thing and disclose this model does not adequately work with the Pro Max series.

The MagSafe was not aligned to fit my iPhone, other than that it is great

Non-fitting cage
Fitted cages protect the best, but with each model change comes another reason to waste the previous one. This cage is universal, successive models may not quite align but with a little ingenuity, it can make the difference. The variety of accessories that come with the cage along with the case makes this a better value as the cost of the holders, hub and mounting knobs can exceed the cost if the kit. Recommended for value.

iPhone 16pro max rig
Love this thing. As a filmmaker I feel like a kid in a candy shop putting this together and adding accessories on this rig.
