Q: What size are the ferrels please*

They are 1.5 Inches at the bottom of the rubber and the tube it fits on is 15mm just measured by eye with a tape measure, I was trained as a fitter so should be close enough for a fit, the typical UK mixes up on sizes, of course, the Inch and a half is quite precise.

Unfortunately my late mother's stuff is now difficult to find but going from very clear memory I can tell you this. This stick is well made and we were very happy with it. The legs are of a span that is most useful for general use on hard surfaces and are reasonably stable on normal pile carpet. It isn't stable on really thick carpet - you need a wider span for that. The problem is that wider spans can be more difficult to use. You may need other sticks because no one stick is suitable for everything. I would recommend this stick as the best general purpose stick and the one to start with. For thick carpets you will need a slightly wider one and for walking on rough grass a wider one still. NRS provide a lot of equipment to the NHS so the general quality of their equipment is very good and the price reasonable.

The handle is hard although very comfortable for your grip, it works very well, you won’t have any problems holding it at all.
