Read this!
Took me about a frustrating hour to realize that in order sync, you actually have to touch the IR screens to each other in order to get it to sync. It should be clear in the instructions!

Natural sound, good battery life, kind of big
I run this microphone through a Bose S1 speaker. I used it for 2 hours yesterday afternoon (Valentine's shows) and then again for 3 hours last night. I did charge it in my car in-between shows while driving, but I'm sure it wasn't fully charged before I started the 3 hour gig. Battery lasted fine. Bose S1 also made it the entire 5 hours without charging. This microphone is kind of big, but perhaps that's why it sounds so natural. It's also a little tricky to put on. It works great for solo violin with accompaniment tracks. If I was playing with a live drummer, and guitar players, it probably would pick up those instruments, and I might not be able to get it loud enough. I have a piezo pickup that attached to my bridge for those gigs, but it's not as natural sounding. This microphone also sounded great through a large sound system at a church for a wedding. No cables, light weight. Easy connection between the transmitter and the receiver. I would buy again.

Not working well.
Most of time, I have to give up since the connection will drop if a bit far.

Great for students in band!
The functionality of using this on instruments and also as a personal microphone. The battery life is very good for its size. Sound quality is great. The mic plug is a professional plug that you see band members use. It's wireless so that's plus as well.

Damaged My Instrument
Do not buy this for a viola. I measured mine and compared it to what the mic could extend for- as there are not many options for a viola. Although it supposedly fits a viola, it is so tight and difficult to extend that it ended up scratching/chipping my instrument. I honestly wouldn’t trust it for a violin either, any sort of extension is so unbelievably tight. I didn’t put it on longer than trying it on, so I don’t know anything about the sound quality. But I don’t think any good quality sound is worth the risk of damaging an instrument. Will be returning.
