The Elements of Quantitative Investing (Wiley Finance)

A Masterclass in Quantitative Investing
This is an excellent book, likely to become a standard reference for quant investing. It starts with foundational topics such as returns modeling and factor analysis and procedes to practical areas such as portfolio optimization and performance attribution. It's accessible to students with undergrad-level math, but has enough novel information that it will be valuable to experts as well. The main chapters are entertaining and easy to read considering the technical subject matter, but each chapter also has an appendix with the underlying math and proofs that will be valuable if you're going deep on a topic.I've worked in fundamental and quant investing for 20 years and have rarely found a book like this which combine academic rigor with a practical approach.

Deeply Insightful, But Disappointed by Black & White Graphics
I’ve been a long-time follower of Giuseppe and was eagerly awaiting the release of this book. Having already read earlier drafts of this book and learned immensely from his previous works, I knew this would be a must-have—and it certainly delivers in terms of content. The book provides a clear, practical, and in-depth walkthrough of the quantitative investment process from modeling to execution and post-trade analysis. It’s especially valuable for those who want to not just build models, but think critically about every stage of the investment pipeline. That said, one downside: despite the $70+ price tag, all the graphs and visualizations are in black and white. Given the complexity of some illustrations, color would have significantly improved readability and comprehension.Still, this is a high-quality resource and a worthwhile investment if you’re serious about quant investing. Highly recommended—with a small wish for a color edition in the future.
