Put together by self - pay attention to directions AND pictures
It's a nice bookcase. It arrived looking like advertised. It seems a little smaller than hoped but I didn't do the measurements beyond width. I like the little drawer on top. It can hold a few small books in it as well. I'll probably use it for books I am currently reading. This is incredibly stable and that wasn't expected from the instructions as they are constantly pushing to use the wall safety mounting. I need mine away from the wall and it is fine. The only problem I had at all with this is the written assembly instructions fail to tell you to use washers on the bolts. I was following the written instructions and only vaguely looking at pictures for placement. When the bolts were all in and some were not holding I looked at my inventory and saw washers and wondered if they were for these and yes, a closer look at pictures showed they were. No mention at all in the steps. So, pay close attention to both. Otherwise, I would have had this completed in less than 30 minutes.

A well-made product of solid wood gives you great value for your money
The Leick Foyer Bookcase (30") arrived a day earlier than scheduled. The five pieces of the unit were extremely well-packed and there was no damage to the structure or finish. The table is made of solid wood & metal and is very sturdy. If your home is like mine the assembly of put-it-together-yourself furniture can be an all-day affair accompanied by much moaning and wailing and gnashing of teeth. However, this table went together quite easily. The five pieces consist of the table top/drawer unit, two metal sides and two wooden shelves. A mere twelve screws securely attach all the pieces together. The bottom shelf is fixed while the middle shelf can be installed at your choice of three positions. Installed in the center there is 8.5" of space from the bottom shelf to the underside of the middle shelf and another 8.5" from the top of the middle shelf to the bottom of the drawer. The other two positions will raise or lower the center shelf by approximately 2". You may change the position easily at any time by lifting off the shelf and re-positioning the four headless screws. The table's four legs have screw-type leveling feet built in.I found this unit by searching "mission style table" and while the clean lines do indeed suggest the mission/shaker/craftsman style I would be more inclined to call it "traditional." It would certainly complement many types of decor. What you see in the product photos is precisely what you get.Several reviews of Leick products mentioned a strong smell filling the room upon opening the box. I noticed no such smell though if I brought a wooden piece up right under my nose -- like a child sniffing a bottle of vanilla extract -- there was a slight chemical smell which may have been from stain. Since I could imagine no likely scenario which would bring my nose that close to the table again I proceeded with assembly. I may have been lucky or the smell could be more pronounced on other Leick products. Whatever the case may be, it is something to keep in mind since other reviewers have had some rather extreme reactions.Condensed version for the busy Amazon shopper: I would buy this product again and would definitely look for other Leick items should I need additional pieces of furniture at this price point in the future.

Superb quality
This is the third piece of Leick furniture we have bought. They have all been beautiful and easy assemble. The instructions are easy to read and follow. The packaging is outstanding. I have been in the building material business for over 45 years, so I have experience in construction and fine furniture. My wife and I are extremely happy with this piece and the other two we have.

Arrived damaged repeatedly
We really want this bookcase table and have ordered it 4 times now with the hope that the top will arrive undamaged. Other than either scratches, nicks or veneer bubble or veneer split, it looks like it would be a beautiful piece. Box had label that said from China. I would really like this piece without damage but how many times do I need to order it to maybe get that?

They would be 5 stars if I could receive both at the same day from same carrier.
This is more of an Amazon issue that a quality issue. The table is heavy duty and surprisingly good quality for the price. Like, furniture store quality!, However, Amazon has within the last 2 months started using USPS for our shipping instead of UPS about 90 percent of the time. I ordered two of these and one shipped UPS and the other USPS. The UPS shipped one arrived on time in perfect condition, as promised. The one that shipped USPS has still not showed up even though it said it was to arrive today. USPS has been terrible for delivery times and I actually had to drive 25 miles to them to pick up earlier shipments. I have requested UPS shipping but they don’t seem to care, and I am probably going to cancel my Prime membership over it. I’m not paying for 2 day delivery when it usually takes a week or longer with USPS. Last package took 32 days to arrive. Tables however were lovely and good quality. UPDATE: The UPS one arrived two days before the one that was shipped USPS. The one that came USPS was damaged on one leg. Otherwise these are beautiful tables. Very good quality.

So impressed I bought 2 pieces.
I am very impressed with the value of these shelves. I bought the short bookcase with 3 shelves and the console with 2. They are very well made, easy to put together. The look more expensive that what you pay for them. They match the expensive tables that I purchased not too long ago. They are wood, no particle board. The iron legs set them off very well. I don't have a lot of room in the spaces I'm using them in and they fit very well. I'm using the console behind my sofa which is against a wall and I have very little space to work with due to recliners on both ends of my sofa. The 12" depth works well. I use it to hide my Directv wireless equipment. If there wasn't a green light on the unit I don't think you could even see it because it blends so well with the iron legs. I was thinking of having a longer unit specially made for behind the sofa but I'm so happy with this that I may not do that. When I got new furniture I eliminated a space for books and misc items. That's what I'm using the bookcase for. I feel like my space is complete now. I'll try to post a picture at a later date.
