Q: Does this also measure PH

Hello there! The Bluelab Truncheon measures EC, not pH. We recommend the Bluelab pH Pen or a Multimedia pH Meter for pH only.

Q: Can I keep this in the water while adding PH down or up?

This is not a pH meter it is an EC/CF/ppm meter. No need to keep in water while adjusting pH.

Q: How come there so expensive?

It is kind of expensive because it works. I have used mine every day for 14 years. With a little maintenance, there is no reason that it won't last another 14. If you want to keep wasting your money on $30 testers, that my friend is a fool's errand.
