Workbook for The Way Out: A Revolutionary, Scientifically Proven Approach to Healing Chronic Pain: A Practical Guide to Alan Gordon and Alon Ziv's Book

This is a science based method of chronic pain resolution. It works!
This book and the accompanying workbook are the most amazing investments I have made this year. After reading a chapter in The Way Out, go to the workbook to complete the prompts, which will aid in the discovery and resolution of chronic pain, which I thought--after many dr. visits, pt participations, and joint injections, as well as accupuncture--was just something I had to live with. Voila! This is not a snake oil salesman, trying to get your hopes up as well as your money. This is a scientific approach to chronic pain resolution. I highly recomment both the text book and the workbook. If you have chronic pain, give this a try. You absolutely won't be sorry.

Summary of book with thoughtful questions
It’s a good book overall, I think a cheaper version sent to you by email would be better than having to buy the book. But good overall!

Not real happy
As I was reading the way out, it occurred to me a third of the way in that a workbook would be helpful because the authors suggest different ideas and new ways of thinking. There are many instances in the book where making a list or thinking of real world examples from your own life would be beneficial. So when I saw this workbook, I bought it.When I started reading the workbook, it read like an automated summary. And the questions are all long form, essay questions many of which sound very similar. There’s very little integration from the book although the chapters are the same and the questions come from each chapter. They just don’t feel tightly integrated. It really seems like the workbook was generated by a summarist who hasn’t really read The Way Out. Or Perhaps an AI.I think a much better workbook is needed to accompany The Way Out.

Don't buy!!
I'd give a zero if I could. I ordered this to go along with the book "The Way Out". I should have paid more attention to the reviews. If I hadn't started filling in the questions , I would have sent it back. The questions made me wonder if the author had even read the book!! So disappointed!!

Do yourself a Favor and Read my "review" below
I just ran across this book, saw the name and the reviews. I have not read this book, which is why the middle of the road 3 stars. However, if Amazon will post this review (as I hope it would), I think that I should point out that there really IS a workbook "for" The Way Out by Gordon and Ziv. It is a real pain reprocessing therapy workbook, written by 2 psychotherapists who were mentored by Alan Gordon, and one of them (author VB) is (at time of this writing) the Executive Director of Gordon's Pain Psychology Center: The Pain Reprocessing Therapy Workbook: Using the Brain's Neuroplasticity to Break the Cycle of Chronic Pain. It takes the techniques Gordon developed, teaches them brilliantly in a very accessible manner (suggest print workbook because you can write responses in it), with additional QR codes taking you to the accompanying meditations and similar audio practices online. (The Audible version does include the audios read by its narrator.). The two authors are very talented and add their own useful insights to Gordon's book. I suggest read (or listen to) The Way Out, then do The Pain Reprocessing Therapy Workbook. The workbook requires some time investment, which I've found worthwhile in spades. Frankly, Gordon is brilliant and his work and book are highly praiseworthy. However, Blackstone and Sinaiko had the good fortune to stand on the shoulders of a giant, and in so doing, in my opinion their book (although not possible without Gordon's groundbreaking efforts) exceeds even the great merits of The Way Out. I have been down the pain reprocessing path for over 4 years now (starting with the useful Curable app), and my pain has been gradually resolving, area by area. I must say that The Pain Reprocessing Therapy Workbook is the single most useful resource I've encountered. Good luck!
