make sure of your scope's objective bell by using a caliper to determine it actual size
after several orders, finally got the right fit for my scope. Butler Creek has been in the industry for decades so it's a name you can trust. I've been using Butler Creek scope covers since the 70s & their quality never went down. The problem is current scope manufacturers in the market( located mostly in China ), put the wrong specs on their marketing literature. When their scope manuals says size 44 ( for the objective bell ), in Butler Creek's inventory it's actually size/model # 40. This happened when I tried getting an objective lens cover for my Bushnell Match Pro. It took several orders from MidwayUSA and Amazon before getting a caliper & getting the right numbers & matchng it with Butler Creek's specs. I'm sorry but i would say specs printed by scope manufactures in Amazon's pages are UNRELIABLE.

Butler Creek Lens Covers are considerably more affordable than other options, and the do protect your scope from dirt & damage. They DO get fragile in extreme cold but for the cost, these are well worth it.

I couldn't find a perfect fit for my new scope. But I heated it up a little over the stove, pulled to stretched it and pushed it on. Get it lined up correctly because as it cools it tightens back up.Alls well that ends well.

Butler Creek Size 40 Fits 2.26" Vortex Perfectly
I selected the Butler Creek Size 40 (2.25 inch) cover for a Vortex Viper HS 4-16x50mm scope that has a 2.26 inch outside diameter at the objective end. It fit snugly but not so tight that I couldn't remove it with a little twisting & pulling. I heated the cover with a hair dryer for about one minute which made slipping it on easier. This scope cover fits well enough that there will be no movement or slipping out in the field. Couldn't be happier with this great product that sells at a great price.
